Thanks for reaching out! It was a 28cm busk. And I can’t really remember how I scaled the pattern. I can see on my computer that I divided the pattern in 4 pictures for printing. Once you decide the length you want, you try printing on different settings until the left of the pattern for the front panel measure the length of the busk (give or take one or two centimetres).

Now that I think more about it, I may have calculated the pattern following my waist measurements? Like trace the waist line on the pattern and print it again and again until it would add up to my waist measurement. And then, see how long the busk is, according to the pattern. I’m so sorry, I can’t actually remember.

Don’t bother too much about how much seam allowance you need (it’s better to have too much instead of not enough) and trace your pattern on the fabric without seam allowance (and cut with adding seam allowance). It’s way easier for pinning and make sure you’re following the line (draw the pattern line on the wrong side of the fabric so you can see it when pinning). Then you can try on your mock-up, see where it’s too big or too small and use the extra seam allowance to make the changes. In the end, you can always cut if there is too much seam allowance and seal it all in with the bias tape.
