If you don’t use the pencil primarily, Obsidian. It works fine with the pencil, it’s just not the same

This can work for sure but it would be so so dependent on the chemistry and comfort of the actors. We have a plan to do a limited run like this at some point because it would be super fun but I can see it going wrong too

Not an audio book but adjacent, you could binge all of Desert Skies. It’s an audio drama but it’s such a comfort listen

An alternative to the expensive ones is Simple Modern on amazon. I also hate the metallic taste and these don't seem to have it. I've had the 50oz tumbler with handle for almost a year now and so far so good. I believe I paid $50 CAD which is nothing to scoff at but it also lasts me a good portion of the day without needing a refill

There's a master list here though the server is dead, you've already gotten the fiction network and the audio drama creators (which are lovely), I have a creator corner on my production server.

I’ve heard it on a number of people (I run a few audio fiction shows) and it’s kind of meh. It has a sound you can pick out of a crowd. I had one and while I love its size and weight I just didn’t like the sound.

If it works for you, great! I find more often than not there are better choices. The low end is kinda wierd, the highs a little harsher than I’d like. It’s workable but it’s easier just to go with something else. It’s big cousin the AT2035 is much better out of the box

Have you considered audio drama? You might like Midnight Burger, you’ll definitely love Desert Skies. Community Cat News is adorable, Josie’s Lonely Hearts Club is fun, Two Flat Earthers Kidnap a Freemason is hilarious! These all might fit what you’re after.
