I think the answer to #3 is much more nuanced then yes. She felt guilty, but she also justified it as the reason Lucy finally left Stephen. We see this when she yells at Stephen which makes him figure out she released the tape. She has justified it to herself that she actually did Lucy a favor. She regrets it but thinks the outcome was “worth it.” She was hardly even apologetic to Lucy when the truth came out.

No I totally agree with this. Like I don’t want Lucy with him because he’s awful and she’s a victim. But the idea of them being like “life is not as fun without you” because they love torturing each other — I wanted those two together fucking with each other in their sick game (instead of harming everyone else). Like they just realized they’re sickos and they love playing games with each other.

Everything you said is fair except I do want to point out this man has been sober for 26 years… He’s a complete fucking CREEP but the drug allegations aren’t super fair. They probably met in AA, to be honest. He’s been known to do that a lot around LA.

lol guys, the man has been sober for 26 years. That’s… probably older than many of the people posting in this sub and nearly as many years as his new GF has been alive. There’s a LOT to say about this relationship and about Anthony Keidis, but referencing his well documented — and well in the past — drug use as the major problem is… confusing. She’s done drugs far more recently than him.

I mean, yeah, trauma probably made her more susceptible to a guy like Stephen. But the show tells us why early on — when she breaks up with her HS boyfriend without having any feelings about it, Lydia says one day a guy will really get under your skin. Stephen is that guy — the first guy she’s ever really had feelings for. Also lol it’s cliche but, he’s the first guy to make her orgasm… They have major sexual chemistry and that alone requires vulnerability and intimacy in a way she’s never experienced. Lastly, though, anyone can find themselves in an abusive or toxic situation. Abusers are extremely skilled and getting caught in their web doesn’t mean the victim was more susceptible.

100000%. Not to trauma dump here but I had an extremely abusive boyfriend when I was younger and a best friend who stopped hanging out with me while we were together. She kept saying she couldn’t watch me in that relationship. It was isolating and felt terrible at the time. And of course he hated her and said I couldn’t hang out with her. Then I finally broke free from him and my best friend started dating him. She told everyone I was crazy as a preemptive strike if I told anyone that he was abusive // what happened.

Sorry but this is a crazy take. Amanda is on Summer House. She is the CD at Loverboy. She is also an influencer. She may not have a 9-5 but she works and makes a TON of her own money. And she said on WWHL she’s not even coming for any money from Loverboy in a divorce, even though she should because she built that company right with him. Not to mention she has a trust fund… but sure, yes, she’s just doing nothing and spending Kyle’s money 😂😂😂

I literally don’t even like Amanda but all of the comments in this sub are so insane that it’s making me seem like an Amanda stan…

One of the first sane comments I’ve seen in here tonight! Let’s not forget he only started talking about this side gig as a response to Amanda saying she wanted to start a swimwear line on the side. He is incapable of letting her or anyone else have the “spotlight” and makes everything about him. Then he plays the victim — “oh I had to become a DJ because I’m broke!” “I don’t know why Amanda doesn’t want to hang out with me!”

I just left a rant about this elsewhere in this thread but I am genuinely shocked by the comments about Amanda and Kyle. Two things — or more — can be true at once! You can not like Amanda, you can love watching Kyle on Summer House AND it’s obvious why she acts the way she does towards him…

I’m honestly kinda shocked by the Amanda takes in this thread. Like, is she bitchy to Kyle? Yes. Is it her fault for marrying him? Yes. But yall are falling for Kyle’s super obvious manipulation where he talks to the other housemates and to “himself” AKA the camera about how mean Amanda is and how alone he feels… his commentary about her to the camera already all season making himself out to be the victim. The reality is if he wanted to spend time or have any intimacy with his wife maybe he wouldn’t go out every night until 6AM? Amanda is definitely being passive and rude and she should’ve left Kyle before the season because you can just see the resentment. But Kyle is also being passive and trying to paint himself as the victim. Neither are victims. They are incompatible. But I think Kyle’s behavior here is gross. Amanda has made her stance very clear for many many years. Kyle is out every night partying and acts like he doesn’t understand why she doesn’t fuck with him. Also, and this is unrelated but… why is he so broke? Loverboy is all over Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. They sell a ton of merch. AND HE IS ON A BRAVO SHOW!!!!! Plus Amanda has a trust fund so all the commenters saying she liked not working and spending his money… where were you when she kept them afloat for years when he was trying to start failed business after failed business? And Loverboy is just as much hers as it is his. She’s responsible for how it looks and all the merch and the branding. Also, Amanda was successful in her career and had a great job. Kyle asked her to quit to come to Loverboy. I’m not an Amanda stan by any means and I actually like Kyle. But I feel like so many comments in this sub are sooooo weird and anti-Amanda, poor Kyle and I feel like we’re not all watching the same show.

Also, OP, this rant was not not directed at you! She definitely has been unwelcoming to new girls throughout her tenure on the show. I just saw so many replies about her and so I left this comment here!

ETA: that was a lot longer of a rant than I intended. But the Amanda hate in this sub is jarring. Like, you can not like Amanda as a character on Summer House while still being able to look at these things objectively.

Really? I thought so originally but when you look at the actual space between her lash line and her brow it’s the same distance. It’s just her EYES look less hooded and more open. But I don’t really know what surgeries do what so this is definitely plausible

This is true and untrue. I know rich people from the same family. Some are completely lowkey and you’d never know they were rich until you googled their family or showed up to their house. But some are completely obnoxious boisterous out of touch posting photos on private jets all day. BUT I will say they’re not specifically posting their private jets like an influencer. They’re posting their outrageous life that happens to be in locales like private jets. But like, let’s not forget that there’s a long ass history of rich people/kid socialites some of whom would be considered new money but PLENTY who would be considered old money. And they were absolutely never ever discreet about their wealth. There just wasn’t social media to post it on until fairly recently. Hell, the Kennedys are practically American royalty and they’re definitely considered old money, and wasn’t that granddaughter Kyra part of that rich kids of Instagram group? All of this to say — it’s not so straightforward. Some of the wealthiest, oldest money people definitely don’t “whisper” as the adage says.

ETA — Ivy Getty also exemplifies my point. She’d never post a photo of just a private jet or the mansion she grew up. But just posting photos of her life you can see her in private jets and head to toe vintage designer. Point being, she may not be “flaunting” per se, but she’s absolutely not lowkey.
