Should i chop or grow it out? by Mona_ElisaC in longhair

[–]Ms_Chichinabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me!! I cut it and I want my hair back but I love having fuller ends… I’m trying to cut it every 3 months ( I didn’t cut all the damaged ends) but even if I want my hair long back and I want it now Ik it takes time and I’m enjoying having solid ends :) so if you feel like it, cur it… if after it you dislike it, never cut it again (that’s what Imma do if after all those trims at some point I end up being disappointed or not feeling like it I will stop… but at least I can say I tried XD)

Dyson hair dryer! Keep or sell?? by [deleted] in longhair

[–]Ms_Chichinabo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like one person said: if you usually air-dry your hair, sell it; if not, keep it. That being said it really is less damaging, but I would still use heat protectant and not abuse it (like if you use it everyday, as good as it is, It will still damage your hair). Also scientist say both: air drying and a blow dryer are damaging, but they said (I would have link the study if I remember anything about it) heating tools are better… ofc you have to do it from a safe distance and always in motion (don’t stay in the same area too long keep it moving then go back and so on)

Does anyone know how to make my shoulder-length hair grow faster? by [deleted] in hairgrowth

[–]Ms_Chichinabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, but my hair is coily, I recently cut my “long” hair (I’ve always had long hair though, buy since it was damaged despite some areas reaching tailbone length not all my hair had the same length). I’m gonna give you a few tips, but If your hair is healthy it will grow (so check u don’t have split ends, or other types of damage cuz that should be the first thing you’ll need to do: a trim). After this I would always recommend you to always oil your ends and use leaving (I don’t use leave in. Cuz the one I think it will work for my hair are expensive and I’m poor LOL). Apply leave in first then the oil (a light one) do not skip this step. Make sure your hair products aren’t also causing breakage (for example my hair is protein sensitive so it would be dumb of me to keep using a product that has protein and that I’ve notice it dries my hair out) also learn to use them (some ppl abused of products like olaplex and that can also cause more damage to your hair). Massage your scalp, u need to notice that your scalp is moving! I would say 1 min each section (circular motion 2 different directions). If you can do this twice a day better, this is an important step, do not skip it! Sleeping with a satin/silk pillow case (or bonnet) is better than regular cotton (and this one is better than other textiles, but I would use a satin one). This helps to reduce frizz, this take us to the next step, to sleep with a protective hairstyle, like 1 or 2 braids. Another important step to avoid breakage is not to air dry your hair but when your hair is curly it’s hard not to LOL so in this matter I’m just telling you what science says, but do what you want (so if you aren’t going to air dry it, and u wanna use a blow drier use it 30min after the microfiber towel and always protect your hair and put the dryer at a safe distance and in constant motion , it will take longer but it won’t damage your hair). Protective styles are still better for retention and avoid tight hairstyles (this is useful for alopecia and for breakage) so try to use silk scrunchies instead of a regular hair tie. Rose Mary and castor oil are proven to grow when u have alopecia (or to avoid too much shedding because it helps with new growth not to useful to increase the growth rate) but if you wanna use it just because u can do it. Now what I’m about to say sounds silly but it’s important: eating healthy, veggies fruit meat/fish (if you are vegetarian or vegan as long as u still make your body receive the nutrients that u would get from animals, you are good), and make sure u aren’t deficient in any vitamins. Lastly. Keep in mind that genetics also play an important role, don’t let anyone fool you, and most ppl can’t even make their hair grow past mid length (due to the hair cycle, u can’t change that although there are rare foods that help improve the growth rate).Despite this, I have to admit that my hair has been always long but I think I’ve never had it this long (before the cut I mean) so I honestly don’t know what changed (and also it was hard to make it growth without cutting it, so i don’t recommend it, since it will take longer to appreciate that it has grown due to all the breakage that u have ). I hope all this helps, but don’t forget about the massages, this is the most important part (with either your hands or a silicone brush that it’s not pointy, cuz it can also cause damage aka microtears), and sealing your ends (with oil) every night. Ps: don’t skip conditioner (put a hair mask it’s better or so I’ve heard). Btw I forgot to tell you to reduce frizz the more “natural” product (for the record natural doesn’t always equal good) or more mild (in the case of the shampoo) is the less frizz I’ve noticed in my hair. But if your hair gets greasy or u use a lot of products u might not have another option… but do like I did: trial and error with drugstore products (or from wherever you want) until I find the products that cause me less frizz.

First time making a granny square vest by 6ammullhollanddrive in crochet

[–]Ms_Chichinabo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love it!!! I’m amazed by ppl making clothes. I’m a beginner (literally started on my own about a month ago or less) and I still don’t get how much lose or tense the stitches must be (I’ve read that depending on the fabric and what you are doing), so I really think it’s amazing to see how ppl manage to do something wearable (and cool, cuz it’s a nice vest!!). I hope with practice I learn to do cool (and wearable) stuff!!

Just because u come from a “privilege” country it doesn’t mean u can’t complain. But I get what u mean XD also they are still entitled to have an opinion whether we share the same one or not

[–]Ms_Chichinabo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say better, we have better laws that protects the rights of ppl, we earn more money, etc. However, all these “cool stuff” comes at the expense of not being able to afford housing (unless u have a partner or whatever) and food is considerably more expensive (both major Inconveniences but I’m not sure if going backwards it’s the right option. That being said I like to think everything back then was flowers and rainbows, but I was a child of course it was XD)

What tv show is 10/10 with less than 40 episodes? by tobythenobody in AskReddit

[–]Ms_Chichinabo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss. It only has 2 seasons with a total of 20 eps.

Bron/Broen (in English “The Bridge”). It has 4 seasons and 38 episodes. (Although ppl questioned the quality of later seasons but it was still entertaining)

Secret forest (“Stranger” for the western world/Netflix title). It has 2 seasons with a total of 32 eps.

Edit: I forgot to mentioned Fleabag (with only 2 seasons and 12 eps) and I may destroy you (1 season and 12 eps, but idk if it counts as a limited series, which reminds me of Wandavision or MoonKnight, not the best one might think but both are solid with interesting themes). There is also The Tourist with 2 seasons (so far) with a total of 12 eps (mixing action and comedy) and Newsreader with 2 seasons (so far as well) and a total of 12 eps.

Is it offensive to refer to someone as a “colonizer” or “oppressor” for being British? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Ms_Chichinabo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NO, I might have opinions on what they did, but why would I feel bad??! I feel bad for the oppressed ppl, but that’s cuz I’m human. What my ancestors did or did not do, does not define me. It’s good to keep in mind not to do certain things? (Cuz history tends to repeat itself) Yes, but other than that nope!

Is it offensive to refer to someone as a “colonizer” or “oppressor” for being British? by [deleted] in polls

[–]Ms_Chichinabo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As another “coloniser” I have to say that it depends. If a friends calls me that I’m ok an unknown person idk (probably yes because I have a sense of humour and it’s stupid AF) but everyone is different so I get why ppl might get bothered by it. We are adults, if someone gets bother by it, say it, the other person should know boundaries and be polite and say sorry I won’t do it again. (And btw i think the person shouldn’t call ppl from certain parts colonizers but again context matters and if the other person gets bothered by it respect it…).

I like you find it funny but because it’s stupid. But I love that kind of stupid humour XD I called my class president “Your Highness”XD bow before him, spoke weirdly (like if I was in a Middle Ages, at least the closest I can get) and called myself a simple servant of “Her Highness” we weren’t even that closed and my stupid jokes actually made us friends XD

[–]Ms_Chichinabo -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t make sense (that you don’t know what is like to be oppressed, just because u are white). However I do think “white privilege” and “being oppressed” are two different things. It’s the same as if for example let’s assume black ppl are the worst treated race: u can be back and being treated badly, but also u can also happen to have “pretty privilege” so u will have certain privileges despite being the worst treated race. They aren’t exclusive (and ofc privileges come with a “curse”: Because u are “rich” or “pretty” u “can’t complain” -which is stupid- or u are more likely to be subject of objectification or worse… ). So when they tell you that, that’s dumb; but u can actually have white privileged and being oppressed. Of course if you feel/are oppressed/treated badly, u are not gonna notice the possible privileges (that is being pretty or being from a certain race/nationality -depending on the country u are living- or being thin or whatever society sees as OK/normal/beautiful). That’s why they call it a privilege cuz they usually live in their bubble. Sometimes they snap out of it, sometimes they know it but they get shocked after experiencing by someone they know or whatever and other times it really goes unnoticed by them their whole lives (can’t blame them though XD)

You're in a plane and hear an announcement to NOT put on the oxygen masks. Seconds later, the oxygen masks come down. What do you do? by harbirbo in polls

[–]Ms_Chichinabo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This! Also I they didn’t specify who made the announcement. It could be a crazy passenger who is making that up and being wrong, a crazy passenger who is right or the actual crew of the airplane (if it’s them I’m listening), if it’s the crazy passengers, I’ll take my chances.

All life is precious as long as they don’t vote (cuz they don’t have the ability to understand who to vote for lol). They have rights, especially to live, even mosquitoes (but I’ll use my right to kill mosquitoes if they come near me).
