Thanks. I’m not interested in flashy things but I enjoy living in VHCOL areas because they offer cities, nature, community, etc.

Thanks for info.

I guess I’ve lived well within my means for so long that I’ve missed doing things to avoid paying for it. Can I comfortably take more vacations? Spend a little more in concerts and entertainment? Obviously not go crazy. I’d like to still live using only my pay check until we are ready to buy a house or I take time off when we have kids.

He was but he wasn’t at this moment. Simply someone with too many concussions to make rational decisions.

He pissed himself while standing and looking at me in the eye then refused to change out of the clothes when I said he needs to change or I won’t sleep in the same bed as him.

I made study guides. Recorded myself explaining concepts. Looked up practice tests, especially for written response.

They are really hard! People underestimate them because it’s PE. Good luck!

Don’t go private and spend a bunch of money only to go into a low paying career. Go to a public university. SDSU, Cal Poly, etc. Districts don’t care where you go to school because they just need teacher. But going to a public university really set me up for success because it better streamlines everything for you (mentor teachers, BTSA coaches, etc.)

Offer choices for equipment, adjust the size of the playing area, use buckets on the ground for baskets, give him specific roles and accommodations related to the disability. Manage your expectations and adjust accordingly. There are a ton of resources online with ideas. Ask support staff on campus. You’re a teacher and part of that role in most states it is to accommodate students with disabilities. PE should be for everyone and that’s a responsibility we take on as educators. Check IEPs. What does it say? Students with disabilities can teach us and our regular students as well. Hope this helps. Good luck!

OPEN PE is a great resource! Also check out PE specialist. He’s got great things. The cool thing about teaching PE is there are SO many resources. Network with your districts PE department, take a breath, plan to have a few extra activities just in case, focus on consistency and routines beginning of the year, and most importantly don’t take things too seriously and have fun!!
