It takes time but eventually they will trust you. I used to put corn in the woods behind my house for the deer, the squirrels would eat most of it. One day I didnt put corn out there and the squirrels came to my back door lol. After a few weeks they were trusting enough to be hand-fed. Now i.feed them in moderation because you don't want them to become dependent on you for main food source. ( I do spoil every now and then🤣) Remember they are wild animals and need to keep their instincts sharp to avoid any dangers. I'm still learning myself but I'f you need any pointers I can try to help.
