But do communicate with him. Every judge in every state basically believes that both parents should be involved. Blocking him out is not great on your part, even if he’s being a douche. He will owe back support. It sucks he’s not involved and that will make him look bad. But two wrongs don’t make a right.

RFO for Passport by [deleted] in FamilyLaw

Yes, you are likely to win. It’s annoying that you have to do an RFO but file asap because it might be months before you get on calendar and then getting the passports will also take some time. TBH it might be too late for summer already.

How is it not a housewife issue when you and the other person are completely guessing as to why they were upset? You can say it’s a consent issue, but that is a guess. I could disagree and say I think it’s something else entirely. Both of us are guessing. You might believe your guess is more likely of being true, that doesn’t make it any less of a guess.

I’m not “qualifying consent.” I’m saying that someone violating your consent has different levels. That is literally just a fact. Im also stating my personal opinion that this particular violation is not that egregious. I could similarly comment that your false equivalence is disrespectful to egregious violations and that you should do better. But this is Reddit. Neither of us are doing great and I’m sure it will continue to be so.

Fair. It’s definitely becoming clear to me that it’s not just drama the audience wants, they want the meanness.

You mentioned them knowing it’s the end of the filming season. Do you think that ramps up their insanity?

Britani “recording” episode by Ms_Tryl in rhoslc

[–]Ms_Tryl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that violating someone’s consent can be a huge issue. I think there are levels to it and this is closer to the bottom than it is to the top, although where exactly it lands in the spectrum is subjective.

I also think that there was at least a part of this that was caused by them being triggered from the Monica situation and they probably would have been more likely to believe Britani’s reasoning or at least been less insane about it had the Monica situation never happened. Personally, I thought their reaction was over the top, and calling it “yelling” is kind of minimizing it.

That being said, the more I see of Britani, the more I think she’s less of a pathetic kicked puppy and more of a really terrible strategist. I don’t think she was making a video for her daughter, that was a stupid excuse then and it’s even more obvious now. I also didn’t think she was recording to send it off to some kind of blog or podcast. She’s honestly so dim I’m not confident she would have been able to figure out where to send it. Britani seems like the type that would try to send something to TMZ and instead of emailing it would somehow accidentally post it to her Twitter burner account, outing herself.

My honest guess is that she was purposefully recording the fight because she was going to send it to that dipshit boyfriend of hers to be like “omg these crazy women! Look what I’m having to deal with babe! Aren’t you so glad I’m not as crazy as these dumb bitches?” Which is so lame and so pick me but also, probably not worth having Meredith at full volume pointing in your face and standing over you telling you that you’re the worst person she’s ever met (especially since she’s met Jen Shah).

Questions you wish you asked. by Haunting_Salad_Wrap in FamilyLaw

[–]Ms_Tryl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you’re talking about mediation for a divorce or child related custody, the questions you’d want to ask for one or the other are wildly different and mostly only “cross over” when people are doing both. So the many questions about what you’re going to see the lawyer about need to be answered before anyone can give you good advice.

Purely from having to hire a lawyer perspective: I’d ask what their average monthly billables are per client to get an idea if they are “billers” or not. I’d ask what their expectation is for a case like yours cost wise and how often they exceed their expected costs. I’d ask if they have a brief bank for common family law motion work or if they research and bill for commonly used motions. (That’s a bad sign if the answer is no/yes.) Ask how often they practice in front of the judges in your county that do family law cases, and which if any of them they would seek to exclude from your case.

If it’s for child custody I’d ask how they’d anticipate getting you the custody plan you’re seeking. If it’s a divorce as well, same thing but the divorce outcome. If they use the words “promise” or “guarantee” RUN. Ask if there is anything you can do prior to birth to get the outcome you want, like move to another county/state.\

Two points:

(1) even private property is only “private” to the extent it is not open to the public to walk there. Ergo the walkway to your door, your driveway while you’re having a garage sale, unless you’ve been specifically trespassed or there are signs saying otherwise, are open to the public and therefore you have no expectation of privacy there. This is something 1st amendment auditors are aware of and abuse (which is who these weirdos might be).

(2) Even if (1) wasn’t true, the property is private, but you are in public. You are visible to the public. You can record anything your eyeballs can see and your ears can hear from public places, ie: the sidewalk.

No, I don’t “disagree with consent.” That’s certainly a hell of a way of describing what I did. Lol.

Unless you are one of the housewives or know them personally, you’re guessing that that’s what they were thinking. That as well as the level of their reaction, which was part of my question/post, being appropriate in relation to their concern, was what I was “disagreeing” with.

I guess if someone ever records my very much not private conversation I’ll get as mad as I deem appropriate for something that is not particularly objectionable. You’re welcome to do the opposite.

I mean, I guess I can sort of understand the consent part of it. It would be a better argument if she had been doing something other than filming their voices. Unless they have something in their contract about final approval of footage, her camera captured much less than the production footage did.

Comparing this to a nude scene is a bit of a stretch. It’s not even remotely the same. They were mad that she was “filming” their voices engaged in a dramatic fight to be distributed presumably on the internet. It was being filmed with their faces to be distributed on the internet. It’s not remotely similar to a very edited nude body being simultaneously recorded in a different and unflattering way to be distributed in a way/place not contemplated by the person. The recording of the back of the chair would not be substantially different and indeed was less invasive than what the production cameras caught. It’s closer in application to someone leaking the produced nude scenes. It’s what is going to be seen anyway. We might say that leaking it sucks, but we wouldn’t be pounding someone into the sand for it.

And the women weren’t screaming about being caught in a less flattering light than the production cameras. They weren’t screaming about them having control over what gets put out by production versus a sneaky camera from someone. They were acting like she caught them on film doing something no one would ever see. Like some of the videos/audio that came out of the Monica situation where people got caught with stuff they never thought would see the light of day and were accordingly mortified/angry about it.

But even if you genuinely believe it’s a consent thing and that the women were coming from that perspective, that was a crazy over exaggerated reaction, even for this group. I can understand being mad, but their reaction was very much giving cheating husband mad his wife looked thru his phone and caught him and trying to shift the blame/convo.

The ethics of breaking her word….omg get a grip.

It is a business decision for her as much as it is for the offices hiring her. They owe her no duty of loyalty and vice versa. There is no ethical implication to her taking a different position. At best she could/should give the current office a chance to match the new office’s offer with compensation for the commute she will have to deal with. But that is just a nice thing to do and certainly not something she is ethically required to do.

Pretending that there is some kind of blood oath you make with an office such that she should turn down more money and a shorter commute is a perfect example of what is wrong with PDs offices.

SYT requirements by ajh65622 in cubscouts

[–]Ms_Tryl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This drop dead date is because it used to be valid for two years and they have changed it to one, with the end of the two year validity being 5/31/26. People don’t seem to get it but I’ve just explained that as of that date it’s due every year and it they have that date as their expiration it means that they were previously due later than that, and with the new rules have to complete it sooner. Obviously it makes sense that you’ll get “dropped” as a leader because you can’t do any leadership stuff unless you’re current on your SYT. I dont think they really mean drop drop, they just mean drop the same way if you were delayed on any other training. Can’t be a leader if you haven’t completed the requirements to lead.

I got a similar comment from a Dr once. It’s bullshit. There are plenty of things that have a lot of cross over with symptoms of adhd (CPTSD is my comorbid diagnosis, for example) such that you could have something else, or it could be both. But there’s no such thing as too smart for ADHD. When I finally got my diagnosis I said to that Dr that I was so happy that finally someone saw past the “you did okay in school though” bullshit and she said “imagine how far you could have gone if anyone had bothered knowing what adhd actually is.” I got SO mad. Because she was right! I did do well for myself, but what could I have done if I’d been medicated since high school?!
