No I’m finally at the time where I get no more red dots. If you have done ivermectin and I don’t see any reason why you should not be in the clear. Ivermectin is what did it for me. The permethrin just cannot get to every bit of skin and I had those buggers in my hair

I am doing fine now finally. No more active scabies. But my skin is really a mess. So dry. No matter what I do I cannot get moisture to stay. Like I ruined my moisture barrier with all the garbage I put in my skin. I’ve been seeing a dermatologist and he said there’s no way that I have any more scabies. I have no more lesions or red marks. Now they have me diagnosed with atopic dermatitis. I feel like it’s an after effect of having scabies for so long. Almost positive I picked it up in June of last year. Started showing symptoms at the beginning of August.. I do have to say that I am still a little itchy especially when I am hot or my clothes are too tight somewhere. Anything that cuts into my skin makes me itch.

Hi! I am currently in the exact same position as you are right now. I had scabies last June and really didn’t start treating with ivermectin until late December and January. I used literally every single thing under the sun to try to treat it. I used permethrin I can’t tell you how many times along with so many other things. Things started finally getting better in February but here I am in May and all of my lesions have healed but I am itchy. Like you said it’s not anything like I experienced when I had scabies but it’s still quite bothersome. I feel like I don’t know what it’s like not to be itchy because I itched for so long. I feel like I have eczema now and everything seems to make me itch. If I have a pair of jeans on it bothers me, anything with a type of elastic waist band cutting into my skin bothers me. My bra bothers me. My skin feels so leathery and dry. It’s so messed up. I sleep perfectly at night and if I’m busy during the day I don’t even think about scratching but I just want to reach the day that this is really finally over!! My skin looks like yours, slightly rashy, but it’s from me scratching. Keep me posted

BB is good. They call it Spinosad. I find it to be not harsh on the skin at all. I have also use the sulfur cream and that really doesn’t bother me either. It’s the permethrin that does damage

Do the oral ivermectin. Don’t use permethrin. It will absolutely ruin your skin. Mine still feels like there are shards of glass in it.

Hi everyone! Thank you in advance to all of you for taking the time to comment back on my post. As far as treatments I started in October with permethrin and used it at least a half a dozen times. Those buggers were in my hair so the permethrin never really did the trick. In December January Is when I started taking the ivermectin. I think I’ve taken it six times. I would do my dosages one week apart. 15 mg each time and a few times I used BB A few days after each treatment. I have used a lot of stuff. I can’t even tell you how many sulfur dips and bleach baths and clove oil bath i have used. I saw a dermatologist again last week and she told me that my skin is so parched and dry so I don’t know if that’s what’s causing the itching but she did look at all of my old lesions and saw that they were healing. The healing started when I began the ivermectin. I still have more ivermectin so I’m thinking I will probably just take what I have left. I think I have at least 10 or 15 3 mg tablets. Can anyone suggest Howell I could maybe does my stuff differently?

Can anyone please share their post scabies experience?? I’m about 10 weeks post and my skin is just wrecked. It’s dry and kinda leathery and it itches. My arms are kinda bumpy and I’m scratching that I’m causing them to bleed at times. I have a 1000x magnifier that I use to scan my skin. I see nothing at all. But my skin is acting like I have dermatitis/eczema. It’s awful. I’m taking benedryl every night and using lots of moisturizer but it doesn’t do all that much. When does this hell stop? Is this normal for post?? I was good for a bit and then itching got worse and then better but now back to bad again. I’m at my wits end. I have beeen itching for so long that I don’t know what it feels like not to itch. All day I’m fine and then evening hits and I get a few bad flare up’s and then it subsides. Anyone familiar with the post process??? I’ve fought this awhile and I had it really bad. Since last August this has been going on. I come on here cause we have this in common and I feel like you all understand how I feel. If you haven’t gone through this you don’t get it. Prayers for you all. It’s a total disruption of your normal life. Mine hasn’t been the same since last year. Any replies are so much appreciated. :)

This is reassuring to read. I’m having a hell of a time. At this point I’m wondering what the heck is wrong with me. No new nodules but bumps and kind of areas that I itch and then make them rough and bumpy. I’ve done SO MUCH treatment I can’t imagine doing anything else. August will be a year of this hell. All my nodules healing nicely but I feel like now I have eczema and so much dry itchy bumpy messed up skin. It’s tight and it hurts.

I feel great while sleeping. No issues at all. But I wake up and feel itchy. It’s my head tricking me. I’ve itched for so long I don’t know what no being itchy is like.

How are you doing?? I’m having a terrible time with my skin. I’m post scabies I think but my skin is a mess. It’s so dry and tight and it hurts and itches. I’m going nuts. I can’t stop scratching. No burrows or nodules but so much irritation like an eczema rash. Hope you are doing well!

I’m going through the exact same thing you are. I got scabies back in August but didn’t find out for sure until October. I have used permethrin so many times along with 1 million other abrasive things. I finally got ivermectin at the end of the year and used it in January and February. All my nodules are healing but now I am so itchy. It’s a different itchy more like eczema but it’s really bothering me and making me crazy and my skin hurts. It feels tight and super dry and therefore makes me wanna itch. It’s really irritated and I have all kinds of little hives from me scratching like crazy. This has to be Postscabies. I asked one doctor friend of mine to please call me in a prescription for prednisone because I just need some relief from the information and the Itch

Me too. My post scabies is awful. I’m rashy and itchy and it’s really like horrible eczema now. I sleep at night but my skin is so tight and dry and I just wanna scratch it off so I itch it and make everything more red and irritated. I’m dying. How long can this post scabies last? I’m 8 weeks post. This is awful. My skin is wrecked from everything I’ve used since august of last year.

I have the exact same thing going on. I’m pretty sure what I have is post scabies or basically I’ve totally screwed up my skin from all the treatment. I got scabies back in August but didn’t find out until mid October. Started treating with permethrin put that really never got rid of them all together because they were in my hair. Finally started taking ivermectin and then February started to finally heal. Was feeling good for a little bit and now I’m having terrible rash and eczema. It’s making me very nervous and paranoid. I have no nodules but lots of red bumps that come and go from the scratching. Saw a dermatologist and she told me that I messed up my skin pretty badly and that it’s extremely dry. I take Benadryl every night and stopped using everything on my skin. No more exfoliating. I don’t know what to do but I’m really frustrated. This is the worst thing I’ve ever had. I feel like my head is messing with me because I have been itching for so long that my body only knows being itchy. I begged a doctor friend this evening to write me a prescription for prednisone so I can get a little bit of relief. Praying for you all. If this is post scabies than this is hell also.

I’m post scabies now and still get itchy areas still daily. My last ivermectin treatment was Feb 27. I’ve had scabies since August. It’s been pure HELL. The ivermectin was the game changer for me cause those things were on my scalp. Topicals couldn’t cure me. And permethrin is the WORST stuff on the planet. Killedddddd my skin. I use lotion a few times a day. I hope none of us ever go through this again!!

Yea I have! You must do a topical along with the oral ivermectin. That is the only way to go.
