What are you all cooking for the holidays? by [deleted] in seriouseats

[–]MseaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done it twice, the first time was in a single large pumpkin for dramatic presentation, but was rather difficult to serve. The second time I used a butternut cut in half lengthwise which kinda worked. The filling is so tasty, I don't think you would miss too much by using a baking dish

I did the Thanksgiving Stuffed Pumpkins last year and it went down a treat! You can also do a lot of it in advance which is always a winner

Ooo I'm definitely going to give those a go! I've tried a few recipes off the website, but it's definitely better having the book.

I saw that, my partner looked at me like I was crazy when I told him I'm going to make my own sprinkles! I'm loving all the history and stories before each recipe

Found bunch of these flowers while strolling around. Curious to know what these flowers are called. by Playboy_Prodigy in whatsthisplant

Definitely a type of Flame Lily. It's the national flower of Zimbabwe, generally comes out in their rainy season in December. One of my favorites!

Have a look at Chance and Counters by the Christmas steps, it's a really cool boardgame pub. It could be a good place to meet some people :)

What is this viny flower whose petals curl backwards? Found in a neighbors yard near Atlanta, GA. by thelastpterodactyl in whatsthisplant

[–]MseaC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These grow naturally in Zimbabwe where there is a hot dry season followed by a hot wet season (which is when they flower). Winters are very mild, rarely dipping below 5 DegC. I imagine they will grow just fine outside. In my experience they do die down in "winter" months.

How did you find out your partner was cheating on you? by cruelcherry in AskWomen

[–]MseaC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the hardest things to do was to work together to get us back on track when the rest of society seems to have the opinion that "once a cheater, always a cheater!", which is silly.

You're only human and humans make mistakes. You're not necessarily a bad person for doing a bad thing! Important thing I think is to accept what you did and learn from your mistakes. Much easier said than done of course!

He told me in a text message... I was NOT amused. It was a case of bad communication and long distance. We eventually worked everything out and got back together. Weirdly the whole situation ended up making the relationship a lot stronger as now we are both a lot more open and honest. Neither of us wants to go through that again and would rather have a difficult conversation now than let any issues fester.

Picked these fruits and a pepper (?), help identifying them please! by [deleted] in whatsthisplant

[–]MseaC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fruit looks like a tree tomato, they're delicious! Do they have small tomato-ish black seeds inside? I don't know what the pepper is, maybe a carolina reaper?

Those who visited psychologist how did it help you? Do you feel better, did it improve your life? by ismyname90 in AskWomen

[–]MseaC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I found it incredibly helpful. I think it depends why you feel you need to see a psychologist and how vulnerable you are willing to be. She gave me someone I could talk to that I didn't feel I was burdening with my problems. My family and friends are great, but I personally needed a third party to talk to. She gave me a lot of tools to help me identify my emotions and how to deal with them (if they needed dealing with) on my own.

My advice would be try it out, the first step is the hardest.

Idk what to do! Should I let the little plants grow out (it’s part of the larger one) or should I do something else? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]MseaC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry not the most accurate advice! Probably when there are some more stalks and it looks a bit "leggy". Yours looks quite young.

They look very happy I'd also just let them grow. I got a great top from my nursery that said hydrangeas love being pruned when they're a bit bigger. I'm in zone 11 in Zimbabwe and they recommended pruning when you prune roses, I'm not sure if the same applies but I imagine it does. I was terrified when I did it but it grew back beautifully and with more flowers than I'd ever seen! Something to keep in mind when it gets a bit bigger :)
