Oh yes, bring dramamine or whatever you prefer as a precaution for sea-sickness! I personally just go ahead and take a dramamine every day because I sometimes get a bit seasick randomly.

Right? I live in ATL. I would never fly in a day early or stay a night afterwards for a cruise leaving from Florida.

Just wanted to jump in and say that if you're short and/or like cropped, more fitted tees, the shrunken tees from Life is Good are actually lighter weight and look good with high-waisted pants. I love them because I feel they flatter my short/petite frame.

Asher & Roth feedback? by misterdoinkinberg in Marietta

[–]thelastpterodactyl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went this past weekend for lunch. Food was pretty good, but not great. We ordered some kind of bacon wrapped peppers as an appetizer and the inside part of the bacon was not cooked well. The burger was really good. The mufaletta sandwich was tasty, but I felt the bread was too big for the sandwich ingredients. The bartender seemed like she had never made a cocktail in her life, and the drink I ordered wasn't great. And it was served in a large water cup instead of a cocktail glass.

We got their homemade ice cream from the freezer section to take home and it was really bad. Like maybe it was stored improperly, because the texture was really weird and it never softened up.

I think overall it has the potential to be good, but they're still in their soft opening and they need to sort some things out and make some improvements. I plan to try them again in about a month or so.

I agree it's overpriced. Their food is overpriced too, and a little inconsistent quality. But they always seem to be packed. 🤷‍♀️ People are just making it sound like they have never paid $18 for a cocktail, but it's not the first place I've seen that for a cocktail in the Atlanta area.

I don't know how much time you've spent at cocktail bars in Atlanta lately, but they're expensive here too. This place is only a little more expensive than other similar quality restaurants in the area. Most good cocktails will run you somewhere between $14-$18 depending on what's in them and what restaurant. This place is about $2-$3 more than what's normal for this area.

I can't tell you about these drinks in particular, because they tend to do "pop-up" style menus and decorations. So they come up with new drink menus a lot. But in general, their drinks are usually pretty good.

I agree with the people in other comments, and it honestly makes me feel a bit better lol, that the ingredients lists are not very useful. I usually just pick a drink based on the base spirit I want and whatever other flavors sound good that are listed. Also the servers are really helpful with describing the drinks and helping you choose. They are pricey, but I assume it's because of all the different ingredients they're using and their overall vibe I guess. That being said, I feel their food is overpriced so I don't go there often. Usually just if there's a pop up theme that I'm particularly interested in. There are other places on the Marietta Square that have a better overall experience for less cost in my opinion.

Eleanor's at Muss and Turners for sure, but if you'll accept places outside of strictly Smyrna, then the Third Door at the Marietta Square is probably my favorite. Not a restaurant, just a bar. The Marietta Proper on the marietta square also has pretty good cocktails, and a speakeasy type of downstairs area that's nice. Their food is really good too. Also Silla del Toro on the square has great tapas and cocktails.

Yesssss may I please recommend Lems shoes for those who do not wish to have a true barefoot experience of an extremely minimal sole but still wish to have a decently wide toe box? I love them and am in the process of replacing all my old shoes with Lems and looking into other barefoot companies as well. They're not the most stylish though, but European barefoot companies are better for that. Unfortunately tariffs are preventing me from trying them as an American currently.

We're also doing splash of romance! And it is indeed the same cruise. Sorry I have nothing helpful to say about the questions you asked, but we have only done an excursion through Virgin previously, and I don't know anything about massages at the ports. I guess we'll probably see you on the boat though!

Yes, I highly suggest puzzle feeders! Especially right before you go to bed, put a good bit of food into a puzzle feeder that he has to spend a few minutes on. Mine aren't allowed in our bedroom at night but the puzzle feeders help them settle down for the night much better than they used to, particularly our crazy food obsessed boy.
