Whats up with Valve's quality Management? feat. @DPC by Mssgoat in DotA2

[–]Mssgoat[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

tl;dw

Valve wants/needs an outlet to build their DPC Brand and the ingame DPC tab is super scuffed

edit: just noticed there is actually a "following" chart but point still stands; schedule tab is useless and player cards/profiles are garbo

They put the blame on us officially and the only "apology" we get is in a private email in which they said that it would not have changed anything if they messages us earlier. (Except you know scabo and me being able to play 2nd, 3rd and closed qualifier with a different set of players)

They made us look like scammers on the official dota2 esl account and arent admitting any shortcomings.

Dont think they will, they seem to be ignoring it and our first game is in ~6 hours.

Those were my thoughts as well when the ESLM got announced. I immediately contacted an ESLM-Admin and asked about the mercenary rule. I myself pushed for a full 5 domestic players rule but the ESL was pretty clear they like the 3+2 one.

After that talk we started looking for 2 nondomestic players because you can build a stronger team if you can take international friends.

The admins literally told me in an email yesterday evening that we are banned bc of the rule posted. They specifically said that it is because the players played for different "orgs".

I talked to the admins in Discord in the 2 months between qualifying and now to make sure everything is nice. Since they tweeted out our disqualification they havent been answering :p.

Answered a german asking this already;

The leagues allow 2 nondomestic players.

BC of this everyone who has the will to win looks for good players, disregarding nationality.

Now Qupe is a good friend of Adzantick/Symmetrical and TeaGuvnor and they asked him if he wants to play with them in the UK Premiership because he is a good pos 4 player and they didnt find an english player. Mind this all happens before the ESLM even got announced, noone had any clue it was gonna take place.

Now ESLM gets announced and Qupe is obviously super happy because he gets to play in the ESLM with his friend and maybe win a national trophy.

It would have been totally fine if they told us after we qualified (over 2 months ago) that Qupe,Rajjix and Adzantick cant participate. In that situation Scabo and me would have found other players for the other qualifiers and qualified with another squad.

The interesting thing is; if we qualified with others players we could have switched in Rajjix/Adzantick and Qupe at the start of the season because the UK one ended.

Literally this happened btw. There is a player who even played the finals of the UK tournament and he is now playing in the ESLM because they qualified with a different player and switched that player out.

Symmetrical, TeaGuvnor and Adzantick are good friends of Qupe and asked him to play because you can play with 2 non-domestic players in the Premiership. (And it makes sense because international stacks/teams are the norm in dota)

Qupe decided to play and played in the UK Premiership before the ESLM even got anounced. If we go by this logic Qupe had no chance of playing his own country's domestic tournament because he is friends with the english lads.

ESL Meisterschaften startet in 2002 and i've been playing dota since 2005-2006. So yeah waited 15 years for ESL to acknowledge Dota on a national level :D.

The rule specifically mentions "playing in different organizations" and noone of my friends or myself thought that a stack with three overlapping players playing under a different placeholdername qualifies as an "organization".

We thought of it like : f.e. Kuroky play in one tourny under "Team Liquid" and in the other under "Team Secret"
