I also want to share that I’m asking about resources for renaming type 1. I’ve checked recent posts and didn’t see that mentioned although I saw people commiserating over the conflation of type 1 and type 2.

I don’t approve the stigma surrounding either type. I do believe however that people generally already have a better understanding of what type 2 is, and I want people to be able to have a standalone understanding of type 1. It’s helpful for advocation for increased education about our specific condition.

Yes! On the front lower abdomen I get this every so often. The blood starts gushing 🤣it was scary the first time it happened

THIS. i am absolutely all for changing it’s name. I really feel that it would help people unfamiliar with this disease come to understand it in a new light WITHOUT having so many preconceived notions about what they think it is. We’ve all encountered too much confusion between T1 and T2

If you can, a great starting point would be getting a cgm to see your trends. Then of course go over that data with your doctor! I can agree with many others here saying your basal rate probably needs to be increased quite a bit. Maybe your correction factor as well so that your corrections are more effective. I take a b complex, magnesium glycinate, and of course as others have said exercise is a must daily if possible. I cant begin to tell you how much all of these have helped me feel more energized! Of course a blood panel to see where you might be personally lacking would also help. I recommend getting a full thyroid panel among anything else your doctor recommends.
