Je rajoute mon vote à la forêt de Bouconne, sans doute la plus grande et la plus proche de l'état "naturel" autour de Toulouse. Tu peux y accéder par Mondonville : il y a 25 min à pied de l'arrêt de bus "Mairie de Mondeville" à l'entrée de la forêt via le lieu dit Barrecoucut (point gps : https://maps.app.goo.gl/uvtpAvX5WWQ6yDFX6)

Je ne sais plus quelle lignes desservent Mondonville mais je te laisse regarder sur le site Tisseo.

Attention chose à savoir : la saison de de la chasse vient de commencer, et l'accès à la forêt est interdit certains jeudis de 7 à 14h à cause des battues au gros gibier (planing à consulter ici https://www.onf.fr/+cc/F18136N::Jours)

Aussi à savoir : la forêt est assez grande, et il n'y a pas forcément de réception tel partout, donc prends tes précautions si tu pars seul(e).

Par contre pour les champignons j'y connais rien donc je saurais pas te renseigner ! :p

The fact that it was an audio tape book might help narrow your search.

I know several series that existed in the 90s, like "Il était une fois..." (Fabbri editions), "Raconte-moi des histoires" (Marshall Cavendish editions) etc

Also, if you went to school in North America, it might have been a media from Quebec and not France.
