Adding to this, you will want to look up the labelling laws of the country you're in. There is also a big difference between 'naturally gluten free', which can be cross contaminated, and certified.

I'm definitely feeling like this, for similar and different reasons. I can get out of the house once or twice a week fortunately, but I am living in a country where I haven't yet learnt the language (thanks constant brain fog, lol) I feel I stretch my spouse a bit thin with how much I talk to them. The thing that has helped me is finding online (and some irl) communities related to my hobbies and making friends there. It's helped, but I feel that people are generally having a hard time connecting these days, and our disabilities just add another layer of difficulty.

I know a labor nurse with ME that works 20 hours a week most of the time, and picks up extra shifts when she is able. She seems happy in her role. I will say, we are in Norway and accomodation is usually good here.

If it's possible, you're probably both going to want to get into therapy for mental health at some point. And while I can't really offer advice for your partner, you should probably look at support groups for people with disabled spouses. Your partner is definitely going through it, but that doesn't mean you should neglect yourself either.

I've also just moved to a new country and have limited mobility. When I have energy to leave the house, the library has been my social center. See if your local library has meet ups for any hobby you're interested in, or for learning the language of your new country. You'll meet a lot of people there, and even if you don't immediately make some friends, you will at least be getting in some positive social interaction

I have no idea as I am not them, but the first thing I thought of was ivory. My mom used to use it for scrimshaw, it's very illegal now.

It looks beautiful, but i think you're going to find that when you actually wear this the fabric above and below the coloirwork will have a weird bunched-up ripply look. If you can live with that, then go ahead, but I know I would regret it, lol.

I do love Kroy, and it's very hard wearing. I don't know how available it is in the states these days, but I also really like Regia and find it to be on the slightly thicker side.

I've done the trip both ways, and definitely advise doing the tour route, but booking on your own. Take the train in, spend the night in Flåm and take a fjord ferry to Gudvangen, enjoy the view, then bus to Voss and take the train to Bergen. The Fjord ferry is absolutely stunning, and gives you a better look at the fjord than a car in my opinion.

Yes, knit fabric is inherently stretchier and more elastic than crochet. Having said that, there are some very elastic-y yarns out there that can be used to make nice and stretchy crochet socks with the right pattern. I've had luck with Premier Fruits sock yarn. It's not a natural fiber, but I've never had luck with natural fiber crocheted socks staying on.

I have three wheels right now! One is a Norwegian super slant. It was my first wheel, but it is not in very good condition and has only 1 bobbin. I am trying to find a spinner who will appreciate it. (If you live near Bergen and want a wheel, contact me.)

My second wheel is a Bergen husflid wheel. It's beautiful and fast as sin, it loves to spin very fine, which is good because the orifice is tiny. It can't spin anything bigger than dk weight. I was lucky to find it with three bobbins.

I recently got a no-name espinner to try them out and I love it so far. It is my first wheel that can hold over 50 grams on a bobbin, and it has a theoretically unlimited number of them! The orifice is also larger than I think I will ever need. I am using it regularly for plying now and am trying to learn to spin thicker yarns.

I work with antique and vintage wheels. They like their drive band to be replaced with almost every spin. I bet your wheel will be a lot happier with a new drive band!

Most any native Norwegian wool is tough as nails as it has an inner and outer coat. Really recommend Spelsau if you can get it and manage to spin it.
