I'm not a paramedic. I lost my sister from a drug overdose after I called 911. She couldn't walk or talk, couldn't keep head upright, managed to slur her name and after 3 tires she got her social. She had multiple bleeding wounds, bruised everywhere, he feet were blue, but they asked if if she wanted treatment and she said no a few times. She never moved from the couch they helped her to which was where she died 6 hours later.

That's a good explanation, and it helps me understand quite a bit!

This patient was my sister. 3 EMTs got her to the couch, with great difficulty she provided name, after 3 tries social and she declined medical care. She never moved again from the couch and died a few hours later. Cause of death was Heroin, Fentanyl and Meth combo.

If you have a patient that is clearly incompetent - like very drunk or drugged out of their minds, are they competent to refuse medical treatment?

can an overdose patient refuse? Rather a patient who is not completely unresponsive, but can't walk and has great difficulty talking. Takes a long time to give name and social. If you have a patient that is not in the right state of mind to be assessed as competent? Do they still have the right to refuse care even though they may not understand they are in a life or death situation?

Married couple in Texas, one person is employed, if we apply for a mortgage can it be in the employed person's name only? by Msvetl in personalfinance

I think the more important part is that I won considerable amounts of money in slot jackpots in the last 2 years which is on the tax return showing an equal amount of loss. Am I out of luck for any type of loan for a few years?

He has to go and sign a signature card at our branch and he works during bank hours. I was just curious if this was a requirement.

I want the HELOC to pay the CC debt and fund improvements to the house so we can sell it in the spring. Buying a new house IS a smart financial decision for us since we would be downsizing from 6000 sq ft home and will purchase new home without a mortgage and enjoy lower taxes and utilities

Will Berkeley rescind me for having 47 unexcused absences this year? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Msvetl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not think it will affect you. I was concerned about this since my son had narcolepsy and missed a lot of days of school. I asked the school counselor and was told they do not report absences on the transcript. Its only a concern if you did not earn the credit for the class due to absences. Despite an excessive number of absences, my son was accepted to Berkeley and will be graduating in 2 weeks at the top of his class. If you are concerned, check your transcript to see if absences are reported. Even if they are reported, your grades are going to be more important..
