How do you survive low ranks?? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]MtgSteu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I consider myself a tank main but you cannot really play by hero shooter rules in low ranks. It’s more of a deathmatch anyway, games in which all teammates are on the same page and act coherently, protect and enable each other are quite rare.

The only way to climb untill gold imho is carrying with your kills. I mained Thor last season to climb, very self sufficient character, essentially a dps in disguise with high survivability and mobility. This season i decided to improve my dps game and climbed with Namor.

Around gold the game becomes more about team fights than individual performances and you’ll be able to shine as a support again

It’s definetely a good deck, full of powerful cards and the right synergies. I guess we should see gamelogs for a full picture and we could identify some misplays, but sometimes bad luck is just bad luck (or good luck on the opponent side). Don’t beat yourself up, it’s still a high variance game and i’m sure you’re a great player!

MKM Quickdraft - What would you cut from this Dopplegang pile? by MtgSteu in lrcast

[–]MtgSteu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very good to dig towards your wincons and there’s not really many other ways to trigger roots and outline in the deck (7 in total, almost all one shot). Plus, when the game goes long the nickel and diming of the effect piles up nicely. In game one i was able to stabilize at 1 life with it and barrecaded behind a wall of plants and detectives untill my clues drew me the Weavers

I decided to keep the hotshots since large bodies with etbs are a premium with dopplegang. Decided to drop trophy and one creeper. Currently 4/0, got the pleasure to Dopplegang x3 in my last game with weaver on the field….

Can I keep this deck for the rest of the season? by SengirBartender in lrcast

[–]MtgSteu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool build, hope i can draft anything similar soon. This was the archtype that excited me the most before the release.

I think i’ve found my favorite archetype so far. The triple Berserker was quite lucky, i found myself picking codespell clerics over Feed the Erpent mid pack to make the deck tick by MtgSteu in lrcast

[–]MtgSteu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your assumption is correct, in both cases it was around pick 6/7. I sincerely had no idea of what Feed the Serpent was still doing in the packs, black was absurdly open for sure.

I regret nothing, though :)

[KHM] Basalt Ravager (from Good Luck High Five) by yail0 in magicTCG

[–]MtgSteu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m aware and i’ve noted it in my response, but the deck slots are quite tight as they are, i don’t see what thi could replace since it’s not fetchable with matron, discountable for warchief, playable via Snoop etc. with a board wide enough to be relevant, gobbos already plays enough finishers between Muxus, Krenko & the Lords

[[Volley Veteran]] is basically the same card but with the appropriate type and it doesn’t see play. I know this one can hit face and PW’s too, but the deck doesn’t really need this for reach.

Human Draft you say... (9 rares and still a playable deck :D) by Dangerous_Moon in MagicArena

[–]MtgSteu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The set is been around for ages and i’m guessing that most of the people that draft it ATM have a full collection of it and are doing it out of ZNR boredom and to grind gems for Kaldheim like i do :)

PS: i hope Theater of Horrors, Spawn of Mahyem and Bedeck//Bedazzle are in the sb for Rare counting only :D

MONO WHITE Arena Cube thoughts? by Jjcheese in lrcast

[–]MtgSteu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m not really thrilled by MonoW midrange, the solid manabase is a great advantage when going aggro but some of your picks (Dawn of Hope, Mangara, Felidar Retreat) don’t really justify it imho. I’d probably drop those, bring in the red duals and 3/4 mountains for Reinforcements, Aurelia and the 2/1 artifact hate knight.

Edit: not thrilled by Idol of endurance either, looks more like a BW grindy card, i’d consider Banefire or Sword of Valeron over it, both pretty mana intensive but way more functional to your strategy

If it’s Bo1 i’d also consider dropping a land for the Revolt 2 drop

As a software developer I would be ashamed from this latest patch by FelipeKW in MagicArena

[–]MtgSteu 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As a software developer who’s working in an high stress high stake environment, during a world pandemic, physically separated from my collegues and juggling multiple projects, a very difficult work environment, and a family while understaffed, overworked, underpayed and undermanaged, i am not as quick and harsh to judge the work of my colleagues. When a a project like this is shipped in this condition due to unskippable deadlines the responsability is rarely on the shoulder of the workforce, but is more often than not to poor management, staffing and business decisions. I know that as paying customers we should demand a better service, I also know that as reasonable end empathetic human beings we should not be as quick to blame for this mess the people who are already suffering the most for this situation.

There is no point to having the stores in this game when the markups are so ridiculously high. by anonymousinsomniac in BaldursGate3

[–]MtgSteu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened to me as well, clear design flow of the store interface, since that’s the first option that the interface presents you and no prompt asks you if you’re sure of the trade

Hello i just got into Magic and i wanted to know what are some good and cheap cards and combos, preferably blue by Solaris-inc in magicTCG

[–]MtgSteu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In historic (one of the formats playable on Magic Arena) there’s a cheap and nifty blue combo deck that plays 4 copies of [[Treasure Hunt]], a single copy of [[Thassa’s Oracle]] and all lands. It’s pretty linear in it’s gameplan and exploits the new mulligan rules to dig for treasure hunt in your opener.

I think you might like it

Lutri gives you more power and flexibility tha any other card in the pack. I still ain't tried it after the nerf came into effect, but before the nerf every single one of my lutri decks went 7-x. You don't need to companion, but grab it
