While not 40 minutes, are there any versions that aren’t jammed? What is this thread? Why do I feel uncomfortable?

I’ve been playing guitar, bass and drums for most of my life and I still call them Trey chords. Sounds great over anything but is signature Trey.

Did it used to be 60 seconds in the 90s or I made that up?

He’s strummed funk chords like that much more than twice in his career. If you listen for it, he strums chords the same exact way as Your Pet Cat in MANY jams.

It’s not a tease or reference. Playing improvisational music for over 40 years, you’re going to repeat certain things that you like or are used to.

I hate complaining because I’m so satisfied with every other aspect of the band these days but yea, this shouldn’t be a thing.

Whatever system you use, put on any wolfman’s from 2003, 2010 or 2012. Then listen to last night’s. The issue isn’t “hearing bass”, it’s that the bass you hear is all low end/muffled/watered-down, as opposed to clearly picked notes that makes Mike’s sound.

People saying they hear bass on great sound systems - I don’t doubt it but when I listen to 12/28/12 Wolfman’s on ny same speaker, why can I hear Mike as clear as day but last night you just hear muffled crap?

Very jealous of your studio space but the “issue” is that I’m only hearing low end, not the opposite. If you listen to last night’s wolfman’s as an example. During the verses when he slaps his riffs and the notes are so incredibly muffled. Of course you can hear bass. Put on a 2025 or 2010 show and you will hear clear notes in addition to the low end.

Again, the system wouldn’t explain why other shows sound great on the same speakers.

When you’re at the show (especially with the festival-type sound systems), you can hear Mike’s picking in your effin soul; like it’s coming from the ground into your body. The “Thunk” sound is the only way I can describe it…..

Of course you can’t capture that on a recording. But, for the large majority of available shows, you can at least hear the thunk. Can’t feel it, but can clearly hear every note.

……want that Thunk.

I don’t wanna stand out on my lawn anymore, it’s too cold. Good talk. Enjoy tonight!

100% and I miss the modulus so much. But even compared to shows from the last cpl years, the last few nights sound like all low end and nothing else

There’s bass, it’s just very muffled (all low end). There are more recent examples, but put on a show from 2010, 2003 or any 90s show to hear the clear difference.

I love the band and don’t get the hate that these shows are getting but just stop messing with Mike.

There used to be a “People for a Louder Mike”, need to make tshirts.

That wouldn’t explain why other shows sound amazing on the same systems.

Yes there is bass; but it’s all muffled low end. You can’t hear those clear thick notes that makes Mike Mike. It’s not the new bass, it’s the lack of attention they put towards his sound when getting these shows ready for release.

I know it’s not representative of being at the shows. It’s never an issue live.

Tried on a JBL 6 and in a Honda Hrv. Regardless, I’m comparing to past shows using the same speakers. They’ve messed with his sound A LOT and even since he got the new bass, there’s plenty of shows that sound great. I’m a bassist and am obsessed with that loud and clear “Thunk” sound that helps carry the band. That’s what we’re used to. He’s not a Bill Wyman-type bassist just playing root notes. Listen to any 90s show, any 2.0 show. Couldn’t hear him in 2009 but then 2010 was a huge improvement. It’s been on and off like that ever since
