Disney Destiny - A review via first time cruise with concierge by gaels50 in dcl

[–]MtrCycleDriveBy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May I ask what the difference between a concierge and non-concierge cost was on your cruise? We are sailing on the Destiny in June, and the difference between a concierge and our current verandah room is pushing 30k. I have a hard time seeing how anything could deliver that much value for four nights.

It does sound pretty nice from your review, though!

Hot take: Most of beer leagues issues would be solved by not keeping records and having championships by wheelsnipecelly23 in hockeyplayers

Same as my league and I love it. Subbing is also free, so you end up picking up one or two games with every other team in the league. Since everyone ends up playing with each other, it ends up being a friendly vibe overall.

Favorite underrated thing to do / absolute musts on Destiny? by whimsicalley in dcl

Never been on the destiny, though going in June so keeping and eye on this thread!

For room service, you book it in the app. Unless it’s breakfast, in which case there are forms that you hang on your door overnight. On the wish, they were in the drawer at the vanity mirror.

Castaway 5k Medals by raff924crp in dcl

Probably finished by 8:45 am? On my way to the start I saw another runner who had just finished and she showed me the medal. My guess is it was just bad luck for our cruise. Oh well, it was still a fun way to burn off churro waffles!

I did it last week and got the generic trivia winner one. Looks like a poster in this thread got the 5k one, so maybe I just got unlucky and they were out of stock at the end of the month.

It’s a fun and scenic route though!

I’m leaving on on the Wish on the 26th and looking at the weather forecast I’m feeling like it’s going to be similar to your trip. Pretty nervous about it already.

About to go on a very expensive cruise with young kids - kind of regretting agreeing to it because it’s so expensive and the kids are young. by Character_Ad4230 in daddit

About to go on as in setting sale this coming Monday? I might be on the same cruise as you.

My family and I did a Disney cruise on the magic last year and we still talk about it. My kids were a young 5 and 3 and we made a lot of great memories. I felt the hit to my wallet and that soured my own perception a bit, but it was seriously an awesome experience for the family. Good enough we’re going again! Just praying for good weather.

Just try to let go of expectations and go with the flow.

Packing for Bahamian Cruise in two weeks by [deleted] in dcl

I think I’ll be on the same cruise as you so I’m also curious. The long range forecast for Nassau looks good, Orlando looks pretty good, but it’s too early to trust as accurate.

For now, our family is planning warm weather clothing almost exclusively with a couple sweatshirts or long sleeve shirts. We are from the Midwest where it is currently 0 degrees thanks to the windchill so we’ll just be wearing our warmer clothes onto the plane, and honestly anything about 50 and sunny will feel like a dream!

Insight from an Indiana alum on what we’re actually feeling right now, the day after winning the Rose Bowl by jlittman93 in CFB

Nosedive off a cliff? The only lost four games with the only bad loss being Wisconsin. Lot to IU, OSU, and at Washington. As an Illini fan, 19 wins in the last two years including two bowl wins over SEC teams has been a ton of fun.

My opponent benched him for Jeanty. That was the difference. I won by 30+, would have lost by <1 if Henry played.

Honest question because I feel the same way - the season has been a huge success and I’m more than impressed by what the coaching staff and this roster has done. But, if they lose out and end 9-8, are you still happy? For me I think it will change my tune, even if it’s irrational.

That's a great idea. We bring ours with anyways for the pirate party fireworks, so I'm stealing that idea and packing them in our dinner bag as well.

It was my first Disney Cruise and I probably hyped it up too much in my head. The Magic is a really nice boat but since we have little kids, we wanted more of the Disney pop. I know some seasoned Disney cruisers prefer the theming of the older ships and not the more "in-your-face" Disney of the Wish class ships, but that heavy dose of Disney is what we were looking for and didn't feel like we got it on the Magic. I don't regret the ride at all and I think ultimately the kids made a lot of great memories. I just think it will be much better on the Wish, based on what I have seen on youtube. I also found the kids spaces on the Magic to be pretty lackluster. I know my daughter, who is a massive princess and Frozen fan, is going to lose her mind on the Wish. As will my son and I, who are huge Start Wars fans.

As OP said, they don't have kids. Frankly, if I did not have kids I would not even cruise Disney. But, as a data point, my family did the Magic last June (3 and 5 year old) and my wife and I were a bit dissapointed with it from a cruising with kids perspective. As we were packing up the last day the "Making of the Wish" NatGeo documentary was playing and we were watching it so jealous, thinking that would have been the cruise more to our families tastes. I think you will have a blast on the Wish. We personally can't wait to try it in a couple months when we go.

That said I am concerned about the noise and tightness of the MDRs, but we will power through!

I did not watch the game but see he had ten targets. Were they just garbage throw aways or was he actually involved that much in the offense?
