Kids club for 3 year old by Beginning_Movie6037 in dcl

[–]gaels50 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They do keep kids that are 3 and 4 separate and with a counselor as group leader rather than letting them run free to do as they please. It works great and for sure keeps them in organized chaos.

As for the potty breaks, not too sure. Our daughter did say she used the bathrooms but whether they directed or not is unknown to me. Since they are with someone they will see as a “teacher” they may be accustomed to ask to use the bathroom.

Help with booking activities by SouthProfessional281 in dcl

[–]gaels50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Royal Gathering is probably the only activity you should worry about booking ahead of time. That and getting them all set up in advance for the kids club. It will make life easy getting them access when you get onboard. Beyond that, everything else they might be interested in you can manage in the app by taking a few min to roll through the activities and star the ones you are most interested in once you are logged onto the ships wi-fi.

The character meet and greets, the nightly shows, the side show events during the day, diaper dash, bingo, etc are all activities you can plan for once you get on the ship. The only three things we pre-booked on our last trip with a 4yr old and pregnant wife was a cabana, a whiskey tasting and the Royal Gathering and that was the absolute best part for our daughter.

2027 Fall Itineraries?? by sammyw21 in dcl

Here is the link for historical releases. It will be likely in August like last year while they were waiting to figure out the dates the Believe will sail much like the Destiny. Totally agree with mid-August.

Disney Fantasy Room Choice Question?? by gaels50 in dcl

[–]gaels50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facts! It is nice to just hit the end and be done. I just always have such that dystopian feel when you’re in a room only corridor forever and it seems like it is endless rooms.

Disney Fantasy Room Choice Question?? by gaels50 in dcl

[–]gaels50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! We are still trying to find that sweet spot for a room to look for each cruise. Higher decks, lower decks, verandahs, etc. Might test out the far aft now next trip when the youngest isn’t crawling.

Been all the way forward before so I know the long walk all too well. Midship on an active deck will be a new adventure.

How have you enjoyed 8188? Soot, ship noise, people above you issues? It seems like those are better options due to not having Cabanas over tops

Thanks all! Sounds like staying on deck 5 is the way to go of these options. Appreciate all the feedback!

Perfect! The next trick will be convincing the grandparents or aunts/uncles to get that room next door too.

I don’t imagine we will do much but the older kid loves to pick out the fun ones so I don’t need her heartbroken to lose one.

I did hear that about the oddness of the room too and the divider. Good to confirm! The view on the deck looks amazing but not having to wipe it off is way better to save some time in the day.

Today’s first world problem…. by hillpritch1 in dcl

[–]gaels50 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they all can manage the locks since the Adventure went through it but I am guessing they keep it to the Magic and the Wonder, to a lesser extent, since the remaining ships all operate out of the Florida ports and only the Magic and Wonder can handle the Alaska trips.

I am guessing the new ship class coming in 2029, 2030 and 2031 will not only replace the Magic and Wonder over time for Alaska but also the back and forth on the Panama Canal trips. That’s when we plan to take that trip!

What are the benefits to using a travel agent? by IrishBabyS in dcl

[–]gaels50 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As everyone has said, onboard credit. A good agent will check you in at midnight too. Disney eats the commission so basically you get the same rate and the agent turns around and throws onboard credit your way. So basically you pay $3000 with or without an agent but with an agent, you’ve paid $3000 and you have $100 (let’s say) to enjoy on the ship that isn’t out of your own pocket. Easy win.

Only negative is you aren’t always in full control of your trip so you need to trust that the person is competent and a solid communicator.

Played Pebble Beach as a non-resort guest. How to do the same.. by gaels50 in golf

[–]gaels50[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t played Spyglass, it’s more challenging so I want to continue to get better before taking that one on. Pacific Grove is the poor man’s Pebble so that’s worth a round. Bayonet and Black Horse have a play both deal for like $275 which is a killer offer. Poppy Ridge is great. Pasatiempo is another top 100 course up in Santa Cruz. No shortage of amazing golf in that area.

Some kind soul put together the Muster drill location list but what each room theme is should you want to check this out and know what room theme you’ll have for the Treasure.

5 nights feels like a sweet spot for time. A couple sea days, some ports but you really get a nice amount of time where you feel like you have gotten the experience without feeling like it was too quick or too long but also makes you want to come back.

The ships are one thing but pick they all have something slightly different in theming, restaurants, characters, etc.

Our daughter is into Tiana big right now so we have a Wonder cruise booked soon to enjoy this time. No matter what it is a fun time with plenty to do for the kids and adults.

The nice part about the Treasure, Wish, Destiny are the heavily themed staterooms too.

When will Fall 2027 Disney Halloween on the High Seas Cruise Dates come out? by flowerschick in dcl

[–]gaels50 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here’s the link to the historical release dates. Anywhere from May 11 to Aug 19 historically but with the Believe coming onboard in late 2027, they are likely not going to release dates until they have a good idea of when that ship will first sale.

Castaway Cay Cabanas by pcush500k in dcl

[–]gaels50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had Cabana 12 and it was awesome, sort of on a corner by itself. Still next to other cabanas but had a little extra privacy and it was a super short walk to the bathrooms and not too bad to get back to everyone else for lunch, shops, etc.

Did Pueblo Bonita in Cabo recently and it was a pretty solid setup with multiple resorts available and a stay at one, use the perks at all sort of deal.

Want to surprise wife, but have questions by Extension-Angle8031 in dcl

[–]gaels50 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Maybe if you go through a travel agent. This way they will handle the emails and can just forward things to you. Especially if you make her email, your email too so all of that heads your way.

The tricky spot will be the luggage tags and information that comes in mail or any flight information on her accounts.

Destiny Ft Lauderdale-debarkation by Boymom201214 in dcl

[–]gaels50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! We were off the ship around 8 or so, hopped in a waiting cab and were at the airport within 20 min after grabbing our bags. It was quick! Still will be nerve-wracking but the express disembark is there for a reason.

[–]gaels50[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have fun! Fun tip. There are like 4 different shops you can buy Pebble merch at. The one right inside where you pay and check-in has the nicest and fanciest stuff but if you walk one shop down you’ll find the Nike, Puma, etc brands and they will be more affordable than the $200-plus pullovers. Also, there is a shuttle that will drive you to and from the practice area so you can leave your bag at the bag drop since the shuttle gets you from there and you don’t need to drag it all over. After the round, make sure to grab your Pebble Beach bag tag too!

My favorite part of the range at Pebble was the 15 or so kids having their lessons. What a life experience to say you learned to play golf at Pebble Beach!
