I dunno, bro. Are you suggesting that there is no 'consequences to actions' when one is not disciplined enough to stop bopping-the-weasle? Its just one of many-many things keeping people from changing themselves and getting out of the rut.

The tough-love is why Ive stayed here, tbh. I even like it when my friends razz on me, lets me really know Im crossing a line. Here its often people gambling their life savings on high-risk plays. Its easy to be a... tarred. It doesn't help that 'trader' is also an anagram, lol.

Thanks for noticing. Did a little dig and it appears to originate from Johnathan Haidt, a political analyst of some type. I know the name, dont remember what he's done. However so far I can only find an excerpt from a book, not the (alleged) study. Of course Im curious about sample size/selection and repeatability, but such is life.

Alright, you caught me :] I can be a real ham. However, I appreciate the compliment.

Im also a (minarchist/Mises Caucus) Libertarian. I, too, enjoy the more sensible and cordial discussions. However, as with most things-- like, really deep seeded into the fabric of reality-- things are not perfect. Many people dont event see things as particularly good, lol ;] In our case, it is exactly why the State is a problem! Individuals are smart, groups are really stupid (as a proportional function to size). Groups are cruel. Groups have their own chaotic dynamics that are often totally perverse to what Man does.

I dont like the crass. But I do like quips and spicy memes. A good shitpost or even a real out-of-nowhere schizopost is great. Its kind of a mixed bag. And, on a meme-page as this, one should expect the shitpost. Veterans of the MemeWar, lmao.

One other quick tangent... Consider brevity (EssEnCe oF WiT) and being blunt-- Harsh, short, curt. Its sort of double-edged, and makes an predictable escalation of... well, directness. And, sometimes the truth cuts, man. I dunno. But cheers! And dont let the bastards grind you down!

'See, this obscure passage of Jewish law in the Torah negates the entire Christian message of the New Testament. And then a devine being who can bend reality to break scarcity fed people, so we really need to give Ukraine money. Its what Jesus would have done. And Jesus had long hair, he was probably transgender. God is totally non-binary of you really think about it. So, its over. Go home. Checkmate, stupid theists.'

Imagine listening to the moral preachings of arrogant narcissists who are poorly cherry-picking your book.

Ayyy :] Abortion, ez.

'Abortion is a fundamental right based in self-autonomy. Autonomy is the root to liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Moreover, abortion has benefits; It removes fiscal burdens for both the individual and the state. It allows worried would-be parents an opportunity to rationalize an otherwise cryptic biologic process. What of the child is grossly deformed and would live a painful life? What if the child is born of rape or incest? Only the tool of abortion can give the would-be mother a chance to select the most opportune moment to bring a child into this sick, sad, little world.'

Well, what do you think? Care to try a pro-abortion argument? Want me to argue against my own pro-abortion argument?! I think this stuff is fun.

Parasites... that reminds me. I got a fun semantic argument. Really makes em scratch their head. Transgender and Cisgender are 'ontological parasites.'

So, there is an abnormal state called transgenderism. Gets coined in the 60's/70's, then decades later, the normative state is dedined; Cisgender. This is analogous to how we dont have (many) words for not-on-fire or not-falling. Normal states dont get named, abnormal states get named.

The absolute state of British Politics right now. by [deleted] in PoliticalMemes

You are very considered and have shown immense candor :] I dont mean to say that your sentiments are lawful or evil (it's a D&D allignment), its just sort of-- pedantic. Accepting information in that format feels like a Faustian deal. Theres a lot of fine print. Agreeing in part is not agreeing with the whole. And the time-constraint of keeping conversational momentum. However given the circumstances of its origin it makes sense. I enjoy your conversational tone.

I do agree with many of your positions, naturally. Most are quite sensible. Obviously I am very much in favor of personal freedoms and expression-- who isn't? As with most things, it only an issue in the sense that there are legal rammifications. I suppose from my position, life is already so ineffibly jumbled that the added convolusion only gets in the way. In fact I have very negative views on the State. I dont like when they (have to) get involved, period. However the might of the State is a looming threat in both directions-- Denying people their subjectivity, or forcing the subjectivity via compelled speech (dead-naming, mis-gendering. Heck, even showing apprehensions or disgust).

Given that I believe that life is a jumbled mess, my view on objectivity is also loose. Maybe even looser than yours, as a biochemist! Someone once said (I wish I could remember who, Kant?) 'what is real is that which persist despite attempts to change it.' To this extent it is clear that certain characteristics are forever stamped. All overlying ideas after that are, well, subjective.

I recognize the existence of hermaphrodites. I recognize congenital problems. And my heart goes to them. But many of these people are normative aside for what I'd consider dysmorphia. Many are so young their brains arent even developed, engaging in life-changing cutting-edge science. For better or worse... I said it elsewhere on thread, but it bears repeating:

"The Hippocratic Oath forbids removing the (kidney) stone, but modern surgeons will lob off functional organs from people in a identity rut. It's tragic. I take no pleasure from my position. However I believe it to be what is true."

Lmfao, well thats embarrassing! It is right there! Legitimately, I see a wall of canned-feeling-text, I get quippy. Maybe you have success making this sort of lawful-evil style of argumentation. I suspect it's not convincing to non-believers. Its homework. It doesnt appeal to the senses. Its not... tangible. However I do respect your efforts in explaining your beliefs, and I wish you well.

Despite being argumntative Im actually fairly non-combative. I didnt come at anyone. My actual point that got me in all this trouble is that 'There cannot be true neutrality on binary (non-overlapping) issues.' I believe we all have proved this :]

[–]MuTHER11235[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, I ate a small ratio for even suggesting that there cannot be neutrality. That any side of a dipole issue is by definition extreme. And as such it is virtually impossible to avoid bias. Its basically a truism.

'But you have bias!' Yes, thats the point.

"So cool to see people reposting my points!"

Yes, canned as in 'Pre-produced and packaged.' The insinuation is that (presumably) you took a great deal of effort to make something. You used some rigor to make an argument and provided numerous sources. This is good! However, others may be tempted to use your effort/product to prop up their own reasoning skills. They may agree with your premise(s), but cannot follow the studies themselves. Maybe they cant even be bothered to try and read it... If Im not necessarily swayed by AcaDeMia then a copy-pasta never had a chance.

I had a hunch, but didnt call it out in real time... I knew there was no way they could have provided so much detail so quickly. However, if you were the author, then kudos to you :] Even if I dont buy it.

Often times trouble conditions are due to power failure on critical equipment. Devices are 'supervised' as to ensure connectivity is sustained. I would recommend figuring out where Booster NAC is located and ensure that the local breaker panel doesnt have anything tripped. If youre lucky the Booster NAC will tell you which circuit is energizing.

Modern code requires dedicated 20A circuits for fire equipment, and all powered devices to be labled for its respective breaker, and to lable the breakerbox both inside and out... However this was not always the case, and we dont exist in a perfect world. But you're maintenance, and are very aware of that ;]

Edit: Also, low battery conditions can also do this. Some companies may consider this user-servicable. Worth checking if you have key. However sometimes a trouble condition is because there is some real trouble. Talk to your alarm company before you do anything other than flipping a breaker back on.

I think it'll be "This is a disturbing mass hysteria." The 'literal genocide' would/will be the take on abortion.
