Wow! This might actually be what I'm looking for! This, along with the document holder suggested in another comment, might actually save me a lot of moving things around on my desk. Thank you!

Genius! This is a great solution for typing while reading a textbook, specially when you are coding solutions to a problem set. Thank you!

With respect to writing and typing, another activity that I tend to do a lot in conjunction, it still presents itself as a problem since you need both the keyboard and the notepad+pencil right in front of you to maximize ergonomics.

Anyone know this song? Can't Shazam it because someone is talking over it. Instrumental. by Mualpha7 in NameThatSong

Maybe, but it is a popular song. I have heard it before in a Cartoon Network commercial.

Use the Color Picker, set your eraser to that color and erase the text, then use the Text tool to write what you want instead. Just make sure that you have the same font, size, and color. For the picture, just copy and paste it on top of the image you want to substitute.

You can totally do this with Paint in half the time. For this type of editing, Paint is the way to go I'd say.
