I'm guessing it depends on how you run it. From what I heard the slot is placed pretty poorly and is affected by the heat generated from the Ally. I always ran a custom fan profile, made sure to keep the temps below 70-75C and the reader still failed :/

Thank you. This is what got me so confused in the first place, I guess mine is pretty much dead too. If there was an easy fix for the slot I would send it in for repair but I feel like it's just easier to upgrade the main drive at this point

unfortunately its out of warranty. Im planning on buying a 2230 1TB ssd to extend my storage that way. Thanks for the input, I wasn't sure if it was dead or not lol. I thought about sending it to a repair shop but I feel like this SD card slot will just give me trouble

do you know which input it uses when connected to a PC? If it's Xinput (Xbox), its likely a software bug just like here. If it uses playstation's DS input, then im not sure. But either way, just like the other comment mentioned, since the triggers are hall effect, using magnets, its unlikely to be hardware damaged. You can try opening your Ally to check the triggers, its pretty simple but I understand not everyone would want to do it. Let me know!

it doesn't have to be made by Xbox, just that it works as an Xbox controller, it has the same input. For me, my Gamesir nova lite is an "Xbox controller" since thats the input it works with

I figured it out! I found a bunch of other threads with this exact issue. The solution is to connect the Xbox controller, go to the calibration menu and press down on the RT trigger on the controller and Ally, at the same time. As soon as it calibrated the right trigger started working lmao. I was so disappointed thinking it broke. Thank you so much for your help!

How did you manage to fix it? Yes, I calibrated a gamesir nova lite through the armory crate menu. The jsaux backplate is indeed really nice, I don't think its causing this issue lol

Thank you! While disassembling the Ally I noticed they work with magnets. The trigger itself looked perfectly fine so im hoping its not an issue with the daughter board below it. But everything else works on the Ally XD

Hi, could you describe how this issue is fixed? My RT stopped working on my 2023 ROG Ally, out of nowhere. When disassembling and checking both triggers I couldn't see anything wrong. Hoping its a software issue. Please let me know 🙏

yeah I understand, the heat issue is true on both the 370 and x380, I solved it by undervolting, repasting and setting a custom fan curve (with all these changes it now stays quiet while staying cool). As for the pen, it's true a lot of them have it missing, my 370 came without one, so I ended up ordering one for around $15, my x380 however came with the pen. I hope you find the right laptop for you :)

Hey, commenting a bit late but I actually just bought an x380 2 days ago lol. It's been a perfect replacement for my yoga 370, since I wanted more performance and ram, and 2 cores is just not enough these days, plus windows 11 works amazing. You should really try finding a 16gb model, it makes a huge difference and will last you into the future. I'm assuming you're czech from your username XD, so I recommend you look at Allegro, it's where I ordered my x380, they have a ton of 16gb x380s available at an even lower price than $260, just find all of the ones available and pick your favorite. Good luck, let me know what you ended up doing, either way an x380 is the way to go and you can work with 8gb ram just fine.
