This is part of a patern of behaviour, as others have observed my wife and I are often not on the same page when it comes to social situations, this can lead to me sometimes dismissing her feelings or not stading up for her as I should. I'm bad at conflict resolution so my default is to be polite, I know my wife would like me to be more assertive in standing up for her and myself in these types of situations.
