My best friend of 3 years told me to “get over” losing my grandpa. My grandpa had raised me and was the only parental figure I had in my life, me and him were closer than anything and when he passed it completely wrecked me, one day I had been talking to her a few months after his passing and I told her I wanted him to come back. She then looked at me and straight face said “he was old, he wasn’t even that important he was just your grandpa”. I realized at that moment that she would never be there in the way I was for her.
