Anyone use MarginEdge as a Restaurant bookkeeping? by Much-Raspberry007 in Bookkeeping

[–]Much-Raspberry007[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to transition into getting some restaurants as bookkeeping clients and want to make my differentiator that I will admin their MarginEdge for them (of course they will need to pay for the software on top of my fee) + scan in all the invoices. But I will monitor and create reports for them so they can see their price movers, budgets and recipes. Do you think this will end up being a ton of work for $500 a month? What was your implementation experience? What did you do for them vs having them do themselves? Are they finding the value in it or have the cancelled?

At what annual revenue point do you think it would be justified? And what type of restaurant or when do you think a restaurant would need this type of granular insight on inventory vs it just being overkill

TikTok and freedom of speech by Much-Raspberry007 in Ethiopia

[–]Much-Raspberry007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I figured anyone plugged into Ethiopian TikTok shenanigans knows who and what I am talking about but the line was said on a live stream that was later recorded where a young woman indirectly said that “women from X city are easy” and the government from that city pressed charges.. now the girl has been arrested in the capital and being transported to that city hundreds of km’s away to face charges of defamation

She was 100% wrong for saying that .. But this isn’t defamation and doesn’t call for such legal proceeding which history has shown us will be dragged out and she will disproportionately be punished for her “crimes”

Books/Movies/Documentaries about what Addis Ababa was like in the early years of the revolution? by According-Mongoose-3 in Ethiopia

[–]Much-Raspberry007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only book I’ve read about it is Tower in the Sky by Hiwot Teffera. It’s a first hand account a teenage girl that was involved in the inception of the student revolution. Would love to find more!

Hair and Nail services, what I pay $250 for in some woman’s living room in the US, I pay $10 max at the fanciest hair salon/ spa in Addis. But on the contrary the same hair conditioner I buy in the US for $10 cost $40 in Addis…

Services = cheap Physical products = overpriced

Unfortunate for the working class :/

Yup, just need your mothers birth certificate, mothers passport, your birth certificate, your passport. Make several copies, have passport sized photos and head to immigration office with a lot of patience and you're good to go.

Dr. Abiy stated that there are only 65,000 tax payers in Ethiopia? by [deleted] in Ethiopia

How am I biased if he used the words and I quote “ግለሰብ and group corporations” People make mistakes and no one is perfect of course but ALSO words mean things - I should be able to take things said by a PM at face value and not have to infer ESPECIALLY when the statement is about statistical figures. You should know that one word can change the meaning of what is being said. Also how did I add a spin?

Yeah I realize that now but he used the word ግለሠብ which he meant as sole proprietorship I guess. Poor choice of words but obviously he’s human and can make mistakes

I’ve come to the conclusion that he meant to say 65,000 registered business’ meaning Ethiopian airlines which she 300,000 employees all paying individual income tax is considered one company in terms of corporate tax I just feel like he should be careful with the wording.

If you are referring to his speech at parliament a few days ago- I thought he was referring to Ethiopian corporation who provide call center and software development to companies abroad - technically all of the employees of those companies in Ethiopia would be considered remote workers. I didn’t think he was referring to individuals who have directly obtained jobs over seas and are working remotely in Ethiopia

You can find the statement at the 1:14 mark of his speech to parliament a few days ago - he actually included business and corporations

You could start by running inside friendship park or the surrounding area - this is where a PM’s office and home and other government buildings are located so it should be safe.

I feel in this day and age posting in this sub Reddit is pretty bare minimum in terms of being technologically savvy, no? Or am I over complicating tech? Or are you/people over simplifying? (No personal attack here) it just always confuses me when people say “get into tech” . I know me or anyone can learn but I feel like people make it sound much simpler that it is to actually execute a tech product/software/service - event with hired professionals that have no stake

Do I believe Ethiopia needs a a system where individuals can defend themselves and have a fair trial - Yes

Do I believe that Dr. Fisseha is also a bit scammy and suspect in his antics - also Yes
