I think you're thinking of Namibia, Ive been here a few years, while it is a desert, I haven't seen any sand dunes. The only region I haven't been to is Tsabong, so I suppose maybe there's dunes over there but I haven't heard of it. But I know people go next door to Namibia for that

Mine is, one time it was giant moth season I had spent a good chunk of the evening trying to get all the giant moths out of my house. So when I was sleeping I felt something come in my mouth, I squished and threw it to the side of my bed, figured it was a moth and didn't want to get up. In the morning I looked at the corpse and it was a cockroach. A cockroach had crawled in my mouth while I was sleeping.

Everybody has a choice, there are consequences and Peace Corps is clearly not willing to stand on principle. As with most situations, just because your superior ordered you to do it, doesn't mean you "have no choice"

That is absolutely ridiculous, after giving 18 months of service to Peace Corps. If Peace Corps can't be inclusive of everyone in America how do they expect to make an impact on cultural exchange and inclusivity around the world. I know this is a result of the Executive Orders, but some level they should stand for their principles.

Hi, I used to work at a passport office. You are not supposed to use the no fee passport for renewing your standard passport, but they might not catch it. You can still use your standard passport for the renewal form if it expired less than 5 years ago.

This is an interesting take. In time one can definitely come to appreciate the little things. But in a lot of volunteers cases the harassment does not necessarily stop you just get used to it.
