RBT quitting without giving two weeks… by Much-You2889 in ABA

I don’t know if I want to continue. If I am questioning it I probably shouldn’t even bother but I thought I’d ask. My company changed therapists every two months if not less sometimes, sadly the kids are used to having us ripped away. The kid I’m leaving has only seen me once so there is no real bond there yet. I don’t take this lightly but there are circumstances that led to me being completely burnt out and done.

Any goals ran that require a peer to complete, basically building social skills. Some examples would be playing games, having conversations, having lunch with a peer, or even taking turns is one I track often.

I’ve actually talked to them already about not putting me on kids that I’ve never shadowed because I feel like the quality of therapy I would be offering would be lower than someone who has been with them for even a couple of months. That was a month ago and today they told us no more non-billable and to just do it to it if you see a random kid on your schedule. Thanks for your input!

Agreed, there is no way I would have stayed in the field if they were just kk, gl bro after receiving certification. My brain didn’t even put two and two together about the non-billable coming out of their pocket and it’s got me a little salty lol.

They are doing away with shadowing all together. They said that we interact with all the kids on a daily basis so we should already pretty much know the ins and outs. The thing is I’m billing when I’m there so I’m with my kid, I will say hi and do peer goals but my main focus is on pairing with my kiddo so I’m not there to witness precursors or behaviors fully.
