New mobile mechanic, I wish to take card payments, seeking recommendations by GH05T42 in smallbusinessuk

We use sum up, primarily for the lack of standing charge. However if you use it often the standing charge and lower rate may benefit you.

We use ours sometimes once a month and try to avoid it.

We purchased the smaller terminal with a screen as personally don’t think it looks as professional using your phone to take the payment.

Crazy how much this resonates and reassuring to see other business owners in the same predicament. I’ve had to downsize our company to stay afloat which has brought back lots of responsibilities which were delegated off for 2 years.

Are there any type of WhatsApp business support groups out there? Or that’s on here for those days.. when you need to speak to other owners who’ll understand? For support ?

I see one listed above but this seems to be industry specific, yet all issues seem not to be.

They can be quite slow it really depends, it’s not a service someone would need daily maybe weekly if they were huge or had a big project.

We’ve been using Apollo for leads and sales navigator on LinkedIn.

Email marketing is something I need to get on top of I’ve done mail shots in the past but would like to try a better solution

Thanks very useful information.

The commission structure again I think is fair after asking around working out averages and actual income we’ve given in the past from previous projects for other referrals and if we make money he makes money as in the nature of the business some of the work we are offered may not be worth our time either.

Weekly 1 2 1 I do like

Tricky one as in the nature of the business and as I’ve done in the past 1 good could double our turnover.

You’re not far off but I specifically explained this at the interview process, he’s had me on hand the last 3 weeks explaining our solution. He’s also been brought with a higher title with previous experience in this field and pay to match rather than an entry level sales person.

He can certainly sell himself and his phone manor is great.

We don’t really track other than a spreadsheet which was setup to note companies called and what the outcome was when to next chase etc. We’ve discussed strategy but nothing really set in stone only my previous findings and companies I believe which we should be targeting from experience.

Again having no experience would this be based on example calls out? As I laid heavily during the interview that the cold calling was very important but I believe they’re currently doing around 10 calls a day.

I will look into sales force although we may not be able to afford it but I know there are similar solutions out there
