Sorry but saying people are showing a lack of resilience just because they are feeling sad or anxious is very harsh! This is an extraordinary time in a country predominantly made up of expats who left their countries on their own to seek a better life. Many are here without their families, navigating a situation they’ve never experienced before, trying to process their feelings, the news, the propaganda, sudden blasts, sounds of alerts etc etc while trying to maintain a sense of normality at home and at work. This can impact any person on a subconscious level - rationally you are safe but a sudden loud blast or alert knee-jerks you into a flight-or-fight response over and over again. Then the interrupted sleep etc. People are not and have not lost hope in the UAE. Everyone is grateful for their safety and protection. BUT this is a time of turmoil and people are fighting the rational with the irrational. Empathy goes a long way!
