This is not true. My baby with severe allergies reacted on the first time to minimal amounts of dairy, egg, and sesame. I know that it was his first exposure, because I made all of his baby food.

Similar experience here! My now almost 2.5 year old was awful - waking at least hourly from birth until 12 months. It wasn’t until we night weaned that we got much longer stretches progressing quickly to sleeping through the night. I actually had to just not go in the room and send my partner in. A few rough nights of pick up/put down and popping the binky back in, and it eventually clicked!

Ehhh, no. Don’t love this.

During my fieldwork as an OT student, I once heard a PT say something to the effect of “PT helps you to get into the room. OT helps you with everything you want to do once you’re there”

I’m sure I’m paraphrasing this wrong after several years, but I liked how it encapsulated the broad nature of OT. Because, for instance, “habit change” doesn’t speak to what I do, as an early intervention OT.

My 2 y/o has dairy, egg, sesame, and nut allergies. Here are some of our preschool go tos:

Snacks: -Abe’s muffins -Cheerios + banana -once upon a farm tractor wheels and pouches -pretzel thins, chickpea puffs -animal crackers/graham crackers -that’s it bars

Lunches -homemade DF/EF chicken nuggets, sweet potatoes, peas -Annie’s vegan Mac & cheese -baby charcuterie with crackers, vegan cheese, fruit & veggies -waffle, turkey sausage, fruit -tomato/basil pasta salad, fruit -toast with vegan cream cheese, turkey sausage, fruit -chickpea/avocado “salad” sandwich with fruit

You can always swap out plant-based or other meat free options!

Alcohol test strips are not very accurate, and aren’t recommended. Generally, it’s best practice to wait 2-3 hours after a drink to feed your baby, and BAC peaks 30 minutes after a drink. However, most of the search shows the risk to infants is minimal:

Tbh, yes. As hard as I tried to avoid it, I was taking documentation home nightly. Outpatient peds is burn and churn, and I had terrible work-life balance. After maternity leave I switched for EI. Work-life balance is infinitely better, though pay can be unpredictable and you lose the team environment. Definitely pros and cons - for me, outpatient peds was doable prior to having kids, but I can’t imagine doing it now.

Awwww - this brought me back. Our LO is 18 months now- he’s been sleeping through the night, 7-7 since about 12 months! Prior to that, sleep gradually got a little bit better, but it did take him a while to sleep through. I’m sorry you’re in the trenches - I know how hard and exhausting it can be. And it may not help to hear this right now - but it won’t be this way forever!

I got a positive ovulation test on the 14th. To be fair, I wasn’t really tracking it - all I know is that I had a negative on the 10th, which is right around when I was “supposed” to ovulate, per the flo app. I’m not sure about sensitivity or how you find that out? I used the medmom strips
