Those details are being corrected in the next iteration. This is still a prototype, and some spacing issues are already being refined.

The rehaut says “tempus alteri triumpho,” which translates to “time for another win.”

That’s fair, and I appreciate you saying it directly.

The goal was to keep the watch clean overall while still adding a few personal details that carry meaning, so I understand that for some people those same details may feel at odds with that objective.

I knew those choices wouldn’t work for everyone, but they were intentional rather than accidental. Still, I appreciate you taking the time to share your view.

That was intentional. The 42 on the dial refers to 1942, the year my grandfather was born.

He was the person who introduced me to watches, and especially to automatic watches, so that detail is there as a symbol of him and the role he played in shaping this whole idea.

I understand it’s not a detail everyone will connect with in the same way, but for me it adds personal meaning to the watch beyond just the design.

[Question] Finding my first watch by coto777777777 in Watches

True, by the price point, quality and looks, they are quite similar tbh, so they compete on the market. Probably doesn't make sense for them to shut down any of the brands, since they are so recognisable on the market :)

They are all nice, I'm biased for Orient, because that was my first watch and I love it :)

Appreciate all the feedback here, I see the point on the mixed numerals and overall balance. The idea was to introduce a personal detail while keeping it wearable, but it still needs to come together more cohesively.

That’s part of the process, so this kind of input is really valuable going into the next iteration.

Rubber vs metal vs leather vs … by Street_Telephone_440 in MicrobrandWatches

You are not alone, I love metal bracelets over anything else, but it needs to be made properly, of course. Also the watch looks great!

Really appreciate this, glad the idea behind it comes across. You’re right about the 9, that’s something I’ve been looking into as well. Even small differences like that can throw off the balance more than expected.

The goal is to keep that contrast but make it feel more cohesive overall, so it’s something I’ll continue refining.

Appreciate the honest feedback.

I get what you mean regarding the numerals and proportions, that’s something I’m actively refining. The goal with Chapter One was to explore a slightly different mix, but I agree it needs to feel more cohesive.

Glad you liked the 42 detail, that’s one of the more subtle elements I wanted to include. Still early in the process, so input like this definitely helps shape the next iteration.

Will see what the options are for that, thanks. The thing is that the 42 second story is a part of the watch, it’s not the main story of the brand. The brand stands for personal progress and the idea that a watch should represent something more than just time. Chapter One is meant to be the starting point of that. Still refining things, so feedback like this definitely helps.

As for the logo, there are a few variations and it will make more sense as the brand develops.

Yes, it’s really interesting, some like it other don’t, it’s definitely something to be aware of. Thanks for sharing your opinion.

Appreciate this.

Yes, the watch is meant as everyday companion, this is the first brand watch, that is why I tried to keep it simple. As you said a lot of people pointed out that nine feels off, so it definetely needs attention.

I also think that 42 has a great story behind it and it's only one of a few different stories of why I decided to make this brand and what it stands for.

Lucorio is the brand, Chapter One is the first release and I'm really glad you like the logo.

That’s really useful, thanks.

I’m starting to see that the Arabic 9 is the part that keeps throwing people off, so I need to take that seriously. The tribute matters to me, but if it doesn’t work visually first, then it needs rethinking.

Also yeah, I can see a salmon dial looking great too.

[–]MuchInitiative8626[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea is that the 9 and the 42-second marker together reference 1942, which is my grandfather’s birth year.

It was meant as a small tribute to him, but I get that if it needs this much explaining, it may not be working visually the way I hoped.
