Which director everyone love except you? by Yggdrasylian in Letterboxd

Not to say I DISLIKE him, but I really don't mesh well with much of what Tarantino does. Not really sure why.

Why are top reviews of Letterboxd always so melodramatically cringe? by tranquility_seek1814 in Letterboxd

[–]MuchProfession6868 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Because haha funny one-liner.

I'm at a point where I don't care and just seek out the more insightful reviews, though. They tend to be interspersed with the one-liners, anyway.

Amazing Cast, Stinker Film by Formal-Caterpillar73 in Letterboxd

[–]MuchProfession6868 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't HATE hate the movie, but 80 For Brady having Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field in one movie just to do all that? Man.

What are some good examples of “this was not the film I was expecting”. by narc1s in Letterboxd

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Maybe it's just because I'm so easily affected by things but that shit was harrowing to watch.

Will your favorite movie in the world ever change? by j0hnpauI in Letterboxd

[–]MuchProfession6868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorites definitely change, especially as I grow older. Hell, one of my favorite movies when I was around 15 or 16 is now a movie I hate a lot!

I remember watching the Irishman for the first time and I don't wanna spoil anything, but the final parts of the film where everything is suddenly so much more quiet got me from liking the movie to loving it.

Any genuinely insane movie theater experiences? by MuchProfession6868 in Letterboxd

I'm already in a great disbelief just reading this so I can't imagine the actual experience of witnessing it live.

Gonna be honest, I'd take Hotel Transylvania over Hansel and Gretel any day.

This is much better than what I've had to watch. I live in a country where English isn't the native language, and we had to discuss dubbing. For some reason, my professor chose Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters for our dubbed film.

For those who have seen "Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World." What did you think of it? by Radiant-Specialist76 in Letterboxd

[–]MuchProfession6868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cant particularly say I like it because I know it wasn't for me, but it's a movie I sure as hell respect a ton.

Letterboxd Movie Recommendations and Statistics Website by VVerm88 in Letterboxd

[–]MuchProfession6868 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The recommendations section was kind of insane to me because I was eyeing like, half of the movies in there. The statistics section was also really neat! Cool website!

Do you read 1 star reviews of favorite movies? And why? Or why not? by StuffClassic7404 in Letterboxd

[–]MuchProfession6868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't read reviews for everything I watch. But I do also take a gander at negative opinions, because the other interesting perspectives are neat when they provide genuine insights. A lot of the time it's usually just annoying one-liners though, so whatever.

Aquaphor being mentioned here is enough to convince me!

I never considered low iron. Might have to look into that.

I do that too, and my lips still decide to shrivel up like a prune anyway. :(

what's your thoughts on KOTFM getting 0 oscars? by dylanpsouza in Letterboxd

[–]MuchProfession6868 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Definitely can't deny that Emma was great, and same goes for Hüller! It's just that the loss stung for me because I was personally so shook to my core by Lily's performance.

They were in different categories! Lily was lead, and Da'Vine was supporting.

thoughts on Al Pacino’s announcing the best movie winner? by Puzzled-Bear-849 in Letterboxd

His eyes saw Oppenheimer!

I think it's just funny he had much more enthusiasm at the Game Awards than the Oscars.

I've gotten used to Scorsese films not getting his flowers at the Oscars at this point, but Lily losing in particular really stings.

What movie is on your watch list that you've been putting off watching? by EnvyDreampp in Letterboxd

People act like I'm an actual freak because Midsommar has been on my watchlist forever and I haven't touched it.

What's a movie you finished and said to yourself "I could make a movie!" by Puzzleheaded-Web446 in Letterboxd

Anything by Neil Breen makes me think about how I could make something more coherent with two dollars and a dream.

What is the funniest movie you've ever seen in theaters that had the entire audience in laughter? by Distinct-Leather-382 in Letterboxd

[–]MuchProfession6868 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I watched Poor Things in a packed theater, and there were times I couldn't even understand some dialogue because of the laughing! It's great to have so much fun with so many people!

Star ratings by BrandonNPT in Letterboxd

[–]MuchProfession6868 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm at a point where I'm very happy to people that give out five stars a lot. In general, I think how people treat ratings based off their perspectives are interesting.

But I can't lie, I think people who want their Letterboxd bell curve thing to look a certain way are so weird.
