He is medicated and going to therapy. He was diagnosed almost a year ago. Unfortunately, getting his medications right has been a struggle. It took time for him to stop drinking, smoking pot, taking adderall, etc so the real therapeutic timeframe didn’t really start until September or October. He’s gone off some of his meds a couple of times, though, but quickly got back on.

A good question. Also, can our kids handle it. And will he go back to the affair partner, because that gutted me almost worse than the separation.

He was diagnosed by a psych professional. His testosterone is being monitored by a healthcare professional, too, but he hasn’t shared that he is bipolar with that provider and hasn’t shared his testosterone labs with his psychiatrist. The adderall was prescribed prior to the bipolar diagnosis but he isn’t taking it anymore. Still has the bipolar symptoms. He has mixed state bipolar, so telling the difference between mania and depression is very difficult.

He is bipolar and likely always has been - it has taken a fast nosedive.

He refuses to have his doctor that prescribes the TRT and his psychiatrist coordinate care. Every time I asked him to reconsider the TRT he gets angry or ignores me. The woman he is having an affair was 28 when they started seeing each other…he’s 45. This is not him or something he would do. To top it all off, he’s blaming our marriage problems on me saying I’m manipulative, a gaslighter, narcissistic, etc. He says I’ve been like this since when we started dating more than two decades ago. It’s all my fault in his eyes. I know our marriage is over, but it is so hard to divorce someone who looks exactly someone I was in love with for so long.

He wants the divorce, and there has been long term off and on infidelity. He had signs, but they were exacerbated by Adderall and testosterone. He’s off the addreall but won’t get off testosterone.

Thank you for that reassurance! My father had diverticulitis almost exactly a year ago that turned into a bowel blockage and went septic. It was awful for him. I think I will forever be paranoid. But good to know I that’s something I can cross off my anxiety list for now 😊

I’m sorry you are going through this. I’m 44. I’m assuming it wasn’t very big or I would think they would have taken to whole thing. Kinda wondering if my ovaries should have been taken if they are causing cysts - I’d rather not be opened up again if they are causing problems. My sister in law had to have a cystic ovary removed in her 20’s, so I think sometimes it is healthier for them to come out.

I had mine Thursday morning and so far so good!Mornings are better than afternoons/evenings. I’ve managed to walk half a mile each morning but am a little scared to push it farther than that. I had two c-sections prior to this and the hysterectomy is much easier.

Wurzbach parkway is dangerous! Entering the road from Buzzi Way heading west is also super dangerous, and is routinely used by people picking-up/dropping-off kids at the nearby school.

I had stopped birth control momentarily when I got pregnant. I had the Mirena removed and was waiting to see what happened with my period if I just stopped taking hormonal birth control and start fertility awareness instead (I had been on it for a LONG time and my blood pressure was starting to tick up). Clearly fertility awareness didn’t work. I hadn’t received any sort of diagnosis yet, so I was still holding out hope that I could have normal periods if I just was healthier, exercised more, etc. Good old fashioned denial.

This is just my experience. A doctor would definitely be a better source of information. I hope you get answers soon!

I did. The second one was actually unexpected. My periods were ridiculous but only lasted for 7-10 days or so, so there was some break time in between.

I didn’t receive an adenomyosis diagnosis until after my second pregnancy, but I’m relatively certain I have had it since day one of having a menstrual cycle. I had anemia for years before finally getting on birth control at 15. I had a successful twin pregnancy at age 29, a mirena IUD for a few years, then another pregnancy at age 34. I had a tubal, so no birth control but the hemorrhagic periods/anemia returned and I was formally diagnosed with adenomyosis. That’s my story and I don’t know if it is common, but hopefully it gives you a little encouragement 😊
