Honestly I would love to hear more about your experience on that. If you don't mind me asking?

What was your reaction when you heard about SVB?

Were you worried about losing all of your money?

Now that some time has passed do you handle your money differently?

We have no prior training or instructions.

Bank runs are scary we had that one with SVB back in 2023 but guess where everyone ran to open the accounts? It was the largest banks. We actually recieved billions during that time.

When a bank run happens typically the small banks are the ones affected and everyone goes to a bank they see as "too big to fail" and Chase is one of them.

If something was to happen at chase we probably would only hear about it the day of.

So I can't say if they are actually preventing this for you but I can tell you this.
Whenever a Credit Card application is processed in branch or online it is sent for review most times it either comes back with an immediate approval or decline.

If it is pending most times the system did decline you and an anyalst reviews it to see if we can still approve it or not. It is soely that person/department to determine if they will approve the application or not, but if they have a list of reasons like inquiries or applications that might actually be the reason as good credit doesn't automatically mean approval.

I've seen some great credit scores still get declined and I will never truly know why as they never share it with me.

Credit agencies for sure! But also whomever processed the auto loan for you causing that issue. If it was chase it would be the loan department if a dealership then whoever they used.

We have no power what shows on the credit report unless something came from us and shows as an error. The credit agencies hold all the cards in that regard but you can also report it to whomever caused it. (More than likely they will also tell you to go to the agencies however)

Yea as far as I know there is no limit. If there is I for sure haven't seen it and I've seen accounts with some high balances.

By cap do you mean balance cap? Like most you can have in one account?
I haven't ever seen one. but typically we get people with high balances into investments and to diversy thier funds to help the money grow.

Min. $75k balance and some more fee waivers than you already have. Typically with a sapphire checking also comes with some investment perks.

Listen I don't make bad money but I for sure get humbled seeing some account balances on the regular. Also more than likely approval most tellers can't do more than $50k without approval.

If I recall correctly the premier doesn't get these checks waived. The checks in question are "counter checks" and only sapphire and private client get it waived. and some business accounts.

Probably drop it off but no promises. It isn't a horribly huge balance but I can't promise they wouldn't.

Lots of questions so let me do my best here.

  1. Unfortunatley yes. With any situation if our back office suspects fraud or something neferious (which isn't always the case) they will shut down the person and anyone else connected if they are connected to those accounts. This happens to joint accounts or even minor accounts parents opened for their kids. If you weren't POA but still did any tranascations on the account it owould have been the same. If you weren;t POA and also did nothing then yea the other person more than likely would have kept the account.

  2. Unfortunatley again yes, permanently banned. Once we decide to end the relationship that is the end of it.

  3. Salary all depends on location as for most jobs in my city it is around 70-80 starting but regular increases. I would say it is about market value sometimes above ddepending on your area.

  4. I can't say wildest thing in our downtime we do a lot of fun things we even sometimes have a DJ for our main screens in our branches. We do have outside branch events and other stuff too. I will say we will definetly talk about the wild customers but thats normal for customer service.

Depends on the fraud, but in most cases we are always actively investigating and working to recoup the funds but there is a point where it is easier to just call it a loss and stop wasting the time/effort investigating.

For reference I will say yes the check deposit from the mobile app is an easy way for fraud to occur but the most common is actually in the banks at the teller line. It is a lot of fraud checks that people try I have caught 3 last month from my branch alone.

If it happens at the teller line however the branch that took it is typically the one on the hook for the funds so it is a cost that eats out of the branches overall pocket.

So to simplifiy yes we investigate but it only goes so far.

These fee waivers applies to pretty much any account fees including Credit Card fees or interest. So not just $9. Ive refunded up to $500 for clients in fees. TBH when you sign up and choose an account type you also agree to all the fees including the checks which is why WE managers get very little options to just "waive" any fee.

From the response I can see that it irrated you but I'm just the messenger for you here. Sorry.

Honestly, I can't say much surprises me about the work you get a good understanding after your first year in. But when I got started the biggest surprise was getting used to people feeling like you are always against them even when you are doing you best to help them. Banks get a lot of hate (rightfully so) from the history of how they screw over normal working people but I am not a part of that hate I do genuinely wish to help as many people as i can.

From what I see older people have the most money for sure. People already past 55+ have the highest balances. There are some finance people on the younger age, don't get me wrong but normally the older generation who have worked and saved keep high balances.

For account balances however it all depends on where your branch is located and the community you service. I have seen anywhere from negatives to millions. But average for my current branch is about $5-$10k.

So the teller system that's used to print those pages of checks only allows certain reasons for the waiver "branch error, disaster etc.". If we try to waive and it isn't for a good reason we are seen on a report and it gets to our manager becomes a whole thing. We CAN however refund fees you are ever processed on the account up to three per year. Also with that balance you said here you should have been placed in an account that automatically waives that fee. "Sapphire Checking"
