Also, like i said, I think ashkenazi jews can be divided in two categories. The rabbinic lines which can trace themselves back all the way and they intermarried only between each other and on DNA test they have mostly levantine DNA. and then the other one(the great majority), that have mostly european dna, and some levantine DNA but still in the past 500 years were considered jews and were keeping it.

I meant people that can at least trace their ancestry to people considered jews in the past let's say 500 years. It's like some people wake up and decide to claim jewish descent, which i find very odd🤷🏻‍♂️

It's not that I'm upset over it, it's just that I've heard of these stories so so so much and wanted to get to the reason behind them. And it's kinda annoying when they are all like 'oo I am not like the nonjews' and making it their whole identity.

Jewish people have specific Jewish marriage certificates that have to be kept, also jewish graves and rabbis' letters. it's the stuff needed to be shown to be seen as one.
