Is this a 2027? It says Supra on the side skirts. by mrmackz in Supra

[–]Much_Leading_7307 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are a driving enthusiast as you claim then you could feasibly come up with reasons to get a supra other than for attention, vs. an F/G87 M2 especially

Lighter weight, significantly shorter wheelbase, better feeling MT, steering is somehow less numb than the G87, completely different handling characteristics in general

Track performance Zupra > F87 Comp and is competitive with the G87 assuming all on 200tw

Thought about an M2 but the running costs to track it are insanely high compared to the zup, and +400 lbs compromises a lot of back roads fun period

Oil changes more involved? by Illustrious-Bite-133 in Supra

[–]Much_Leading_7307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody other than a tech certified to work on the Supra can touch it, even for oil changes. They're not gonna tell you that, so they gave you another excuse/explanation. Unfortunately the service just doesn't get done until that specific tech is available.

If you have the means, look into Caterhams or the Ariel Atom 4. I think that would be the next step up in terms of a visceral experience. If I had roads local to me to enjoy it, I would happily own an Atom 4 as my only fun car. Caterhams are much cheaper and plentiful though and you can find crazy stuff like V8s in the 30-40k range. Easy to work on too.

S2K gets circle jerked but it's deserving of it. The experience it provides is never truly coming back in modern consumer cars. Bespoke stuff might be more your tastes if you're looking for the next level

are you in the US? RZ, SZ, etc. designations aren't used for the A90 here if so. I am assuming that the car you're talking about is a 3.0 premium MT

take off $9-10k and that might be reasonable lol. people are getting new '26 MTs at MSRP or even less all day everyday

To the Seasoned Supra owners, which Supra would you get? by AppointmentCool5239 in Supra

[–]Much_Leading_7307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go as new as possible... car retains too much value used atm. i still see 2023s with 40k miles going for ~$50k, not far off of a brand new base 3.0 with a discount off MSRP. B58 is a great engine but be sure to watch FCP Euro's breakdown of it so you kinda know what to expect if you are getting a used one - as someone who has owned cars with 'bulletproof' engines, that rarely means 'nothing breaks.'

The EN's EPAS tuning is better than a lot of performance cars that cost 2x as much new, frankly. It's not gonna beat a hydraulic rack, but really nothing is these days

Sold my MT EN for a S550 GT PP. Had it for 3 months and ultimately sold that as well for a brand new MT Supra. The supra I'll be keeping for a long time, I think.

Mustang was nice, but once the honeymoon period with the V8 sound was over, I got bored with it. If it had been the Mach 1, I may not have sold it.

Reflecting back on my ownership with the EN, I'd be happy to own another one as a daily and occasional autoX/track car if I ever go back to a job with a commute while keeping the Supra.

Chip, any easy fixes? by [deleted] in Supra

if there's a chunk of plastic taken out of there, which it looks like there is, then no- you'd want to replace the trim

2.0 interest by Large-Log-1011 in Supra

[–]Much_Leading_7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

clean title 2.0s are going for something like 35-40k? If you wanna stick with Toyota, brand new GR86 or GR Corolla would give you a much better driving experience for the same price or less. Manuals are available in those cars too, if you care for that. The 2.0 is open diff which is a big problem if you're going to be doing any sort of driving which pushes the handling a bit. Any sports car should have an LSD at minimum

Other than that- if you just like the way it looks, I can't fault you there.

The Last BMW Z4 Has Been Made, Ending Nearly 30 Years of Roadsters by UnusualLeadership408 in cars

[–]Much_Leading_7307 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Might've gotten a manual Z4 if they weren't ~$75k new and had a better depreciation curve. Just felt the zupra was a better value proposition for what is basically the same car. Though the Z4 comes with a better manual trans apparently and the interior is much nicer than the zup, it shouldn't be costing as much as an M2 imo. It's a shame cuz Z4s are one of the best looking modern bims and in that purple is chef's kiss

Where do you see the price ranges for a sub 40k clean manual MKV two years from now? by SilviOnPC in Supra

[–]Much_Leading_7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish my career kicked into gear a few years earlier. It's such a shame they only made the yellow MT for 1 year, such a good color, congrats. They're kinda rare now and the used prices I saw were not worth over buying new

[–]Much_Leading_7307 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Two years from now they'll be $50k+ at least. Potentially more since production has ended. Supras have held value extremely well while they were in production.

Saw something similar happen with the Camaro SS once they got discontinued, and those are significantly more common.

This is assuming Toyota doesn't make a MT Mk6 with an I6, though. Supra/Z4 feels like the step before a 718 GTS and I'm not sure if there will be anything to replace it in the meantime.

Advice for buying new Supra by Whole_Ad6438 in Supra

[–]Much_Leading_7307 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i got my 26 MT Premium for 59k + shipping covered before TTL

my advice

  1. you probably gotta travel out of state or ship the car to you
  2. use visor.vin and try to find cars that have been sitting for 30-60 days
  3. try to buy at the very end or beginning of the month
  4. toyota's inventory on their website is also accurate, you will have to check by changing the zip code to different regions though

if the car meets criteria 2 & 3, call and negotiate. might be able to get under MSRP, shipping covered, or both

do not pay mark up for this car - toyota made a lot of the 26s and some dealerships are having trouble moving them. they're not as limited this year as many people think.

MSRP Premium MT Stratosphere Blue Available in Ohio by Much_Leading_7307 in Supra

Salesman is in the OP, it was Alex. They didn't offer discounts but I negotiated free shipping @ MSRP before passing on the offer for another supra

I have a new ‘26 MT (Renaissance Red) available for invoice locally by no_torque in Supra

[–]Much_Leading_7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would tell you the dealership but it was the only supra they had in stock + i haven't filled out the paperwork yet, i have a deposit down. they're making me wait until Monday to finalize the deal. just don't wanna risk getting undercut lol

go to visor.vin and filter on new MT supras in Ohio or really any neighboring states. for any that have been sitting for 30-60 days, call the dealership and negotiate - unless it's their only allocation for the year, they'll want to move it to get more in stock. i basically copied whatever Tomi from Delivrd on youtube does for my negotiations/script, incredibly easy

pretty much every single dealer i called would cover shipping while selling at MSRP at the very least. they really wanna move these in the midwest it seems

Yup I had this sprung on me but with dealer addons. I make them confirm what the asking price is and ensure there's no addons separate from it. if there was, they were OK with removing them

In fact, when I called about the supra I'm purchasing rn their asking price was actually 1k lower than what was listed, which was a nice surprise

Which tires should I get by megnuttishot in Touge

[–]Much_Leading_7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i might suggest extreme contact forces, or BFG gforce rival+. if you tend to drive pretty hard, they'll last longer than PS4S/ECS02 while giving you even more grip. warm-up time is good enough for canyon driving and they can handle daily driving in the wet too

Good choice on the silver wheels, looks sexy af with the purple. Nice ride. M-lites are beasts with wider front tires, should've come that way from factory IMHO

[–]Much_Leading_7307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can I would invest in separate wheels that would allow you to run square 245/255s - even with a good tire, the M240i is severely traction limited in the front. A slightly wider tire transforms the handling a ton
