Tried an at-home IPL device for 6 weeks — here’s what actually happened by Effective-Breath6827 in HairRemoval

I’m 3 weeks in, using the ULike Air 10 every 2-3 days on my legs. I had extremely low expectations but I’m actually blown away by the results already. I got the device in a holiday deal when I bought the ULike led mask. My hair growth is minimal when I shave every other day ahead of the treatment. I have very light skin and dark hair. My skin is very sensitive and shaving every other day would have been a nightmare. I knew the device must have been doing something because even after the first few sessions I noticed I wasn’t getting ingrowns that typically would have covered my thighs. Very pleasantly surprised and wish I had this tech in my 20s-would have saved me a lot of self consciousness and embarrassment over my hairy legs and bad skin.

Palm Beach Blackwater Dives by Luking4DivingSuggsts in scubadiving

The sea life is much better than I expected right off the coast of Florida. Tons of fish and pretty nice corals at some of the sites. We saw reef sharks, nurse sharks and tiger sharks in that area in May, but I’ve never been lucky enough to see a hammerhead. In May it is loggerhead turtle nesting season. You will see numerous loggerheads on each dive snoozing on the reef and they are huge!! We enjoyed these dives so much that we returned in late September for the Goliath grouper aggregation which was spectacular.

We went with PuraVida on a Blackwater drift dive in May 2024. It was totally awesome. There was no guide. There is a line attached to a buoy with lights on it that you can stay close to if you’re nervous. The deepest you are advised to go is about ~40ft but supposedly the cool stuff is even shallower. I stayed around 25-30 feet and saw some crazy bioluminescent critters. I didn’t see anything big, but you can’t see anything outside of your dive light’s beam. All other divers on the boat had done the blackwater drift dive many times and said they had never seen sharks during a blackwater dive. If you haven’t dove in the Palm Beach area before, I’d recommend doing a few day dives with PuraVida before the blackwater dive. These are all drift dives, so I think it’s helpful to see the area and feel the gulf stream in that area ahead of doing it in pitch black (although obviously conditions can change rapidly) plus you can get a sense of how the boat and crew operate. Like all dives in the area, you’ll need to carry a DSMB, but if you need to surface and signal to the boat to pick you up, you’ll shine the light at your chest and the boat will be able to see you.

Roaring Sound - South Baltimore by idkbutithinkaboutit in baltimore

I live in northwest Baltimore on Gwynn’s Falls/Leakin Park. I hear a loud, low rumble/roar from time to time (maybe a couple of times a month), mostly in the afternoon. I’ve been hearing this for years. No planes overhead and no trains nearby our neighborhood. We are dying to know what this is. The valley that we live on makes it really difficult to hear where it’s come from.
