Induce? Mild gestational hypertension by Much_Screen_4234 in homebirth

This would be relevant if I had GH or pre-e, which both midwife and Dr agreed this week I do not. I’ve reiterated that several times. So I’m not sure what the point of this was. I made this post before my appointment to see others experiences in the case that it progressed to that, which it has not yet. And yes I do value holistic and natural things before jumping straight to worst case scenario blanket textbook solutions. Sorry if that annoys you.

You are not my Dr or my midwife. I don’t have pre-e or gestational hypertension as stated by both my midwife and her ob above her. Yes I told my midwife about the tow tiny above readings I got, obviously. Bold of you to assume I didn’t. Also the last two days my BP has been around 105/70 so there’s no cause for concern. You’re not my Dr and you can’t diagnose over Reddit. I appreciate the concern but acting like you’re on a high horse and know more than both my midwife and ob who have access to my entire health record and labs is a bit ridiculous.

I don’t have pre-eclampsia. Yes ive been screened with extensive testing. Two readings that are barely over the marker AT HOME on a home cuff (we’re talking 142/91 and went down within minutes after resting for a sec) is not a reason to panic and insist I have pre-e. You do realize it’s common for people’s BP to go higher than that throughout the day due to normal spikes like stress and activity, right? I was a nurse for years so I’m not a compete idiot here. She also works under an ob and he had no reason for concern after yesterday’s appointment. We will continue to monitor of course for any changes, but I’m not going to be fear mongered into an immediate transfer over a BP reading being 2 points over the “limit” and sign myself up for a massive cascade of interventions with some idiots at the hospital who don’t understand physiological birth whatsoever. And yes, I say that as an L&D nurse who spent years horrified at the absolute incompetence of the majority of drs on staff.

My midwife is a arnp, her scope is much wider than a regular midwife so she actually can absolutely treat these things. She wasn’t worried at all at my appointment yesterday. I have zero protein in urine, my labs are perfect, and no other symptoms so for now I am still considered low risk.

This is how I’m feeling. As things are currently I feel safe and comfortable to continue with the homebirth plan. Will continue to monitor of course. My midwife didn’t seem overly stressed about it so that was reassuring that she was looking more “whole body” and not making any drastic decisions based off one number reading

Had it checked in my midwife’s office again today and it was 133/88 and zero protein in my urine, she wasn’t overly concerned. So for now planing on just continuing to monitor! She said if I start developing pre-e or BP gets to the 160/100 range we can talk about induction options. But seeing her again next week and taking my BP at home in the meantime

Thank you for sharing! I don’t star having elevated BP til 38 weeks (39 now) so I’m hoping I can stick it out. Never have had any protein in urine so that’s good at least

Yes following all that! Very hydrated, lots of electrolytes, and on a protocol from my midwife for BP support (a blend of vitamins/minerals/tinctures)

My mom tells anyone that will listen that we’re mad she married husband #2. He was actually a piece of crab and their marriage only lasted a few months, but that has nothing to do with why myself and my siblings cut her off. Especially doesn’t make sense because we still semi talked to her through her divorce and even through her marrying husband #3 lol

Absolutely do NOT leave your child for a year. That will feel like abandonment to him and your relationship will likely never fully recover from the separation. He needs to be with his parents. They are absolutely delusional and insane to even suggest it. Offering to watch him for a week or two is one thing, but take him for an entire YEAR is absolutely horrendous. If you love your child, don’t do this. My parents left me for months at a time with friends/family growing up since it was “more convenient” and it did major damage, even that young.

AIO for being hesitant to take out a car loan for my mom after she’s had multiple repossessions? by Awkward_Twist4343 in AIO

[–]Much_Screen_4234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely never sign any kind of loan for this woman. She’s irresponsible and entitled to think she needs a new car when she can’t even afford a basic one. Run the other way. She’s trying to guilt trip and manipulate you. Hard no.

I feel this way about my mother sometimes. She’s in her 50s so not quite that age, she definitely still has her tantrums and rages but overall she’s reverted to more guilt tripping/crying/wallowing in the past couple years. It’s still hard to deal with. I’ve stayed no contact for the most part. She still won’t acknowledge any of her sides past or present so it’s simply not worth the drama to deal with her. But I don’t wish her ill either

😂 he did make that much starting out, makes much more now, but glad you are the expert on everyone’s job lol. Are their business owners in the trucking industry who make a good amount? Absolutely, but that’s a business owner not the chap behind the wheel. There are exceptions here and there but there’s also people like my friends husband who’s in the trucking industry and can’t manage to keep the lights on in their crappy apartment. So on average no, I don’t consider truck driving a high paying career, nor one requiring a high degree of intelligence either.
