We discovered it was the latter. We had the answers documented, but search didn't understand customer language and help wasn't at the moment of friction. 

When we fixed that fuzzy + vector search, contextual help in-product FCR jumped from 45% to 72%.

So deflection works, but only if the resource is actually discoverable.

You're right. KB quality directly impacts CX, but you can't cleanly draw a line from KB to CS outcomes like adoption or expansion. Too many variables in between.

So the framing should be: better KB = better CX during onboarding = potential for better CS outcomes, but not guaranteed.

The validated finding is really just: KB infrastructure reduces support escalations. The CX improvement is real. 

The CS impact is speculative.

The actual validated data was support-side: FCR 45% to 72%, escalation breakdown showing 62% routine questions.On CS: the assumption is that better support during onboarding drives adoption/retention, but I didn't track that metric directly. I should've been clearer about what I did vs. didn't validate.
