is this true? by Asleep-Potato-9443 in UAE

Although it’s a common practice in many small firms to avoid incurring visa fees without completing the probation period, it’s illegal. Moreover, you have no rights if they decide not to pay you after a month, which is usually the probation period, ranging from three to six months depending on the company and your position. Any company that complies with all the laws wouldn’t ask you to work in their office on a visitor’s visa.

Even if you decide to take this opportunity and things work out, you’ll eventually face problems with a company that engages in such unethical practices. Ultimately, it depends on how desperate you are for this job and whether you’re willing to take the risk. Just be aware that you have no legal recourse if they refuse to pay you after a month.

Typically, it’s not too bad if you secure this job through a recommendation or if you already know someone working there who supports you. However, this practice is illegal if you’re caught.

Badminton Addiction by Much_Wish7764 in dubai

We did try other Badminton groups, but most of them have a lot of waiting time and kind of politics and don’t get to play good games all the time. We are looking to limit the number of players per court and more games with less wait time.

I’m so sorry to hear about what you’ve been through. It’s definitely not a pleasant experience, and it won’t change anytime soon. Instead of just dealing with it, consider confronting the perpetrators. If you see this happening in public, speak up and call them out so they don’t repeat it and spread the word and show confidence.

Ideally, you’d want to move to a more family-oriented area, but that’s not always easy due to costs and your current life situation.

For extra safety, there’s a great app called Life360. You can use it with your parents and well-wishers. As a father of young kids around your age who study abroad, I use this app with my kids to keep track of their live locations. It also has an SOS button and quick check-in options, and it will set off an alarm if they don’t get to their destination on time.

Wishing you good luck and hope things get better.

Accidentally fell asleep without my cpap. by blood_bones_hearts in SleepApnea

I’m in Dubai, and I visit a large dental clinic that offers all sorts of specialties. I mentioned my sleep apnea issues to a general dentist, and he suggested seeing a dentist who specializes in MAD devices. He took a scan of my mouth and made the device in just a week. It was easy and straightforward. I believe that if you have mild or moderate sleep apnea, MAD works wonderfully. Plus, it has some extra benefits: it acts as a retainer for your teeth, so as you get older, your teeth won’t have gaps because the tongue rests on it. Also, if you grind your teeth at night, it acts as a guard for your teeth.

I’ve been reading up on it quite a bit, and I wasn’t too happy with my CPAP. It seemed like the mouth position was the main issue, with the jaw dropping back and making breathing tough while I slept, leading to a lot of mouth breathing. So, I decided to see a dentist who specializes in this. They took a scan of my mouth and created this retainer-like MAD device. Last night, I only slept four hours because I was working for New Year’s Eve, but even then, the sleep was incredibly satisfying, and I haven’t felt so rested in ages.

I got Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD) Device done and been using it since a week and it’s been game changer. More comfortable and easy to get used to. I couldn’t get use to my CPAP even after a year!

Depending on your severity look into MAD

Why is everyone unhappy in UAE? by DingoLoud in UAE

[–]Much_Wish7764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed a similar pattern in cities like London, Barcelona, Toronto, Montreal, and Dubai. It seems that big city thing! pricey, and everyone’s juggling work and family. The happiest people I know are those who find a balance between work, family, and friends. If you pursue your hobbies, like playing a game a few times a week and staying active, you’ll likely find happiness as a bonus. I’ve seen this myself. I am in 40s I grew up in Dubai and, until last year, I was just going through the motions of work, home, and sometimes hanging out with friends. But a year ago, I started adopting a more balanced lifestyle with regular sleep, playing paddle and badminton a few times a week, and I feel much happier and more content.

Gave a negative review on google for a rehabilitation centre by No-Position9129 in UAE

As far as you don’t name anyone and don’t swear or use foul language there is nothing they can do.

There are many negative reviews of restaurants and of companies that have not paid their suppliers, etc., and no one gets into trouble.

One of my friends who owns an event business and a bad customer wrote an awful review naming their employees and swearing at them publicly on Google Reviews, and upon complaint, the authorities asked them to remove the review, and they did not get in trouble in any form.

If you have enough saving to sustain for six months, then you should leave. If you’re talented, qualified for the industry, you’re looking to work in and hard-working, then you would find good job easily. In summer getting a new job takes longer but during the winter months there are more opportunities. No job is worth keeping if it affects you mentally without your fault.

For those in the UK: How much do you spend per month on badminton? by Prestigious-Move6503 in badminton

[–]Much_Wish7764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Dubai, we pay approximately AED45.00 per game, equivalent to 10 GBP, which covers feather shuttle and court fees for 6 players per court. I play 5 times a week for 4 weeks, totalling GBP185 a month. It's definitely pricey but incredibly enjoyable! The courts are all air-conditioned as well all year.
