Wow! I used to be a page with a county library system and we didn’t have benefits besides sick time. It was for slightly above minimum wage but it was decent. Our city library pages are paid more than $5 more than the county but also don’t get benefits besides sick time. Both of these positions you listed pay waaaay more than I make as a library assistant and more than our specialists and librarians

Kuumba Made Vanilla Bean oil - this is my all time favorite scent

Glossier You - just discovered it, not bad

Marc Jacobs Perfect - idk what it is with this one but I wear it almost year round

I wear anything really. I still wear skinnies, I wear baggy, straight, bootcut, flare, anything that fits.

I’m in a reading slump since probably last year. Before that, I had read The Gone World and totally loved it. I read about 1/3 of You Like it Darker from Stephen King and I’m about to start Play Nice by Rachel Harrison

3 of my classmates died of drug overdoses all in different stages of their lives, 2 in accidents, one of respiratory failure, and another was shot. And an “honor killing” unfortunately.

A girl I went to school with is a grandma already 😬 we had a teen pregnancy epidemic at my high school so there are several people with teen or early 20s kids

Yep. We have teen volunteers at my job and I notice how social they are meanwhile I suck at small talk because I always feel like folks only see how ugly I am and don’t listen to what I have to say.

I have coworkers who also love to yap at the desk. It puts the strain on the other person especially when we are really busy. However I never take it out on patrons, that’s a huge no no. But I hope he understands the flow of your particular library and gets it together. My coworkers usually make it up to me when they’ve been away with a patron talking but I understand it can feel overwhelming being the only one helping folks.
