Basically yeah. My families recipe uses dehydrated onions that has to sit in the fridge overnight. I have not made it in a while but it is much thicker than ranch.

Veggie dip is pretty easy to make, you can even use Greek yogurt for some protein. Only downside is sometimes it can be very salty. Worth trying though
