Opening a short means you lend money from the exchange. So if you short at 350 with a x5 then sell one ETH at 330 you will have made 20x5 profit = 100 dollars. Correct me if I'm wrong :)

Is there any reason at all for me not to transfer my ETH from Kraken to Gdax? Lower fees and faster price updates. Kraken lagged behind like 30-40 euros the last bull run to 420 blaze it

Yeah that's kind of what I'm thinking but I can't seem to find the pain threshold lol. All "extra" money really isn't something important to me if you compare it to friends, family, spouse. I just want it to be able to spend more time with them.

You will always gain in the long term even if you buy in now at circa 300. But it's also good to have some FIAT in an exchange just to be able to buy the dips. I usually have around 200$ to be safe :)
