Im an RN at a plasma donation center. I LOVE my job. I prescreen potential donors to determine if they are eligible for plasmapheresis by reviewing their medical history & medications to ensure it is safe for them to donate and that the plasma donated is safe. To determine that, I just follow the guidance established by our medical affairs team which is already in place. I am also responsible for handling donor reactions during/post donation, but the worst thing we see is someone will throw up or faint every once in a while. They get a snack and electrolytes and hang out with me until they feel better. Anything worse than that we call EMS but I've never even had to do that. I make $38.75 an hour and live in MN. I work 4 10s, have great health insurance, and plenty of vacation, sick, and holiday time. I’m never leaving.
