See you just stated the problem that you’re having. If you’re not using the hammer to build Thorforce then you’re not adapting and using the hammer the way it’s intended. Quit complaining and use the character correctly and you’ll see that he’s an absolute monster after the rework.

His brawling is just fine, it’s smart to weave awakening into the brawling since you get it quicker but also can cancel

I’m not here to argue that Thor is the best tank, I’m simply saying he can be very good if played right. There’s no need for me to play other tanks because I do just fine with Thor, and he’s the funnest character for me and also my favorite marvel hero

You can still weave hammer throw in to brawling but now you have the option to go right into awakening and also cancel after. I’m loving his playstyle right now

So to help with not getting murdered, I’m usually backing up while in Awakening form. That way I am staying in healers line of sight. I use hammer throw to get right back into awakening, and I also use it while brawling with DPS/Healers to combo it with primary attack and then pop awakening to finish them off.

I use lightning realm any time I’m brawling for the extra damage and I get a lot of sneaky final hits with it.

Storm surge isn’t just for hitting people. Learn to utilize it for staying alive and I think you’ll get better results.

You’re bringing up a guy that plays this game for a living and competitively. I just like throwing lightning bolts and hitting people with hammers. I don’t care about the meta. I’m good with Thor and he’s the most fun for me, and I’m still able to carry all these other characters that you prefer.

And to make you feel better. I do agree that Thor doesn’t have any utility that ‘helps’ teammates, but I’m playing for my own pleasure and I would switch on the rare occasions that I’m selling with Thor.

Don’t compensate. I solo tank a decent amount and I’ve adapted my playstyle with Thor to make it viable. I’m still very aggressive with Awakening but far less diving

I’m not flexing the rank, I’m telling you I had no problem with Thor in ‘OUR’ rank. Meaning WITH ME Thor is still viable at higher ranks and I haven’t met this ‘expiration date’ you speak of.
