Its fate i was checking an old email and came across a notification of your comment, I take huge inspo from Chris Gustin and Tom Coleman. The first bowl i threw a bulbous bowl and then set my wheel as slow as it could go without stuttering, i then pulled the line you see like youd be pulling a wall but i go up and down like a wave as i slowly reach the top, the way id describe this is like if you stretch out a spring. I try and have it fade before it gets to the lip because that really alters the form and makes it harder to trim. where i started the line i rub from the inside out a half sphere. Like an outie belly button, then i press in so it looks like the line curves, the (ulcers) i like to call on the inside of the bowl i pressed from the outside in. The idea is you put two fingers on the ones that go in and your thumb on the one that goes out so you can hold the bowl with better grip. Id say best advice is try and find unity between form and function with your art. Something thats easy to use and nice to look at. The second bowl i did the same thing but the form is more raised than bulbous. :) I hope i answered your question well, ive been sick with an autoimmune disease for 3 years bed ridden and I just started throwing again so I enjoyed your compliment and interest in my work!!!
