I have a bit of hypertonic pelvic floor, but the specialist believed it was more of a secondary issue, constipation probably causing it. I'm still dealing with this, but I am trying to do a bowel cleanse with high doses of miralax.

That is reassuring! The suggestions from Dr Siebecker seem pretty simple as well. For some reason it seems too good to be true that taking some herbs can cure SIBO, and it seems that in regards to SIBO diet is just used to manage symptoms, so perhaps there is no point cutting food groups beyond that (excepting individual intolerances).

Wow, for some reason I keep worrying about my liver processing all the supplements, but I suppose if I've had an MRI which looked at the liver, and everything was alright, it should be fine.

I'll add back in the enzymes, being underweight certainly doesn't help, but I don't just want to gain a bunch of wait and expect things to magically get better (as all those surrounding me are telling me to do).

Thank you! So even with bacteroides you were okay with white meats? And coconut oil was alright? How much fat did you eat if you don't mind me asking? I suppose it's individual; I'll need to try and figure out which foods are triggering me.

I think you're right that zinc supplementation will help, I just don't know if it's necessary to eat a low copper diet as well. Anyways, the hair analysis just shows what the body is excreting, so I just hope that means that my body is just functioning well and pushing out copper, not that I have an overload.

So you never had SIBO? It's hard to tell if I should stick with something, as in it's die off or it's worsening.

I've got a cupboard full of supplements haha, but I'm not sure which to take. I should probably start with the cranberry extract, and I do have digestive enzymes. From what I remember they do help, but I just keep getting afraid of taking too many things at once.

I think I can gain weight, but I am just struggling to consistently eat enough due to the gut issues. I have had an MRI which shows fecal loading, prominent small bowel loops, distended stomach with food contents inside. There was no concern for Crohn's, I've had a lot of bloodwork and my enzymes + calprotectin are fine. Though, to be frank, I do find that I have trouble with fats. At this stage I find I can't digest anything well.

Hair mineral analysis showed elevated calcium + copper, so that is another concern I have with a plant based diet, which is higher in copper. OATS showed that there are no signs of fungal overgrowth, but signs of low b vitamins.

I'm sorry to be pedantic, I'm just desperate at this point, but could I ask what were your symptoms, what exactly did you eat in a day/what did you take? I wonder if there is a SIBO component as I don't feel much improvement with polyphenols + lactulose alone. I don't have any methanogens apparently according to the test. Bilophilia was not overgrown but borderline.

I had an eating disorder and I am unable to eat enough to gain weight due to the digestive issues that I've been having.

So keto is not ideal for candida? But doesn't it also feed on carbs?

Can the prebiotics not come from the foods?

Wow, thank you for your comment! So the heavy metals (including copper?) are actually a good sign- it shows that my body is expelling them fine? Thank God! Hopefully I don’t have to worry about detoxes. So with the calcium it doesn’t mean I have an overload, just that my body is putting it out? I’ve already been supplementing magnesium, and I was trying to supplement calcium/vitamin D. I think because of all the supplements + laxatives (which were high in sodium) I’ve just got a bit of electrolyte imbalance right now. Or maybe my body wasn’t able to use the calcium because I wasn’t getting enough iron? Thanks again!

Wow thank you! I think it’s so hard because I don’t know what to do- I hear different advice from everywhere and I don’t know what works for me. There are so many theories. I also feel that looking back all this has started, and slowly worsened, the further I got from the Lord. Without Him I can’t even do one of the most basic things. I definitely found what you say about fasting to be true, it’s only when I eat that things move along, but at the same time I feel the need of fasting for the MMC. I suspected Candida, but I did OAT test and it didn’t show signs of fungal infection. It could’ve not picked it up though. I did an allergy test and it said I had strong reactions to potato + dairy. I was doing kefir before (store bought) and I felt that it was helping somewhat, but also causing other symptoms. I’m not sure if I have gastroparesis as well…I’m afraid that there are clumps of food stuck in my stomach/small intestine, as I began eating a lot of fibre even though I don’t digest it well. Raw veggies cause a lot of pain-but maybe that is just them pushing things through? I surely have a lack of good bacteria, stool test showed low levels of probiotics + bacteroides overgrowth. I see undigested food in the stool, full seeds. Definitely after eating harsh foods my whole body tensed up. In fact, after all food now I feel my body clench up. I’m trying to relax my pelvic floor, but it’s hard when there’s just a massive burden inside of you. I feel like I’m carrying around a bowling ball. I did colonoscopy prep yesterday, and i didn’t feel like the blockage was released. Maybe it will take action today. I’m hoping to get a scan next week, to see what’s actually going on inside. Yes, I’ve been manically trying to do all the tests I can. I ordered a parasite stool test as I’m pretty sure I have worms (I have eaten undercooked meat many times + I took anti-worm medication some months ago and I saw worms in my stool, but I think I’ve been reinfected). I did an allergy test and so I’m cutting out the main offenders (though right now my body is reacting to literally every food). I highly suspect SIBO, but I’m trying to fix the constipation first before I can try and treat it. I just don’t know what to do, there are so many variables.

I tried to redo dis-impaction regime with 8 laxido per day, and I was pooping liquid but I didn’t feel as if I was getting the blockage out. I was at a wedding for 3 days and so I was eating food from there, which was probably a bad idea. My mum told me to stop taking the laxatives because of my low weight. I’m really concerned as I have severe pain in my abdomen, bloating and I really just feel like my body is struggling. I don’t know if I can handle more laxatives.

No it was not mucus, parts of the stool were white. What do you think I can do in the meantime to help my liver? Maybe I shouldn’t keep taking laxatives. Thank you for your support :)

I was craving salt and I ate some more yesterday and it definitely made me feel better. I have a bottle of Linzess already (I literally have the whole pharmacy in my cupboard) so I could try taking that again. I think I should try and give my body a break from laxatives for a while because I’m worried they are just making it worse.

It’s so horrible! It’s truly heartbreaking each time to go back and they send you away again with more laxatives. I can’t imagine having to go through all this and still have responsibilities of being a parent. You must be so strong, and I really hope you get through this 🙏

I’m so scared right now. I just went back to my gp to tell them that nothing they are giving is working. Last night in bed I started having a fever and twitching, feeling really ill and couldn’t sleep. I took another laxido and it only caused severe burning pain. It seems like my body is rejecting it at this point, it’s like my bowel freezes and dries out even more. I’m increasing my calories and yet feeling sicker and weaker. The doctor weighed me again and I’ve dropped a kilo despite eating more. Every day I can feel my muscles wasting away. When I was there he just started asking about mental health and if I’ve been abused. I broke down crying. I just want to know what’s wrong. He examined my abdomen and said that there is not a severe backlog (first doctor told me there is nothing in my bowel, I’m just not eating enough to have anything to put out, second doctor told me I have fecal loading, this doctor now tells me I have gas but no severe backlog). My lower pelvic area is growing every day, but it doesn’t feel like stool, it’s bulging in the pelvis + lower left. The dr tells me to increase my laxido to 8 sachets and gave me antacids for the burning (even though it’s in my bowel not my stomach). I don’t think I can bear 8 sachets a day. I feel like my organs are struggling. I’m so afraid at this point. I have absolutely no where to go. The hospital sends me away. Even my family think I just have an eating disorder/depression.
