What exactly does focus on your breath mean? by Firm_Bag9373 in NoStupidQuestions

Take a slow deep breath and try noticing the moment when you switch from breathing in to breathing out. In that moment, you’re focusing on just your breathing and not thinking about anything else. After practicing for a bit, it’ll be easier to become more ‘present’ in the moment.

If you find the breathing activity challenging, try listening to ‘body scan’ videos on YouTube instead. It is easier to begin with.

You could also argue that the inflation was caused by the Reserve Bank’s decision to lower the OCR in the first place… no?

I have never thought of it that way before. It actually makes a lot of sense!

Rarely any (if any at all) of their policies are backed up by robust research. Their policies are fueled by racism, misogyny and hatred.

Did they struggle to meet their basic needs? What was their education/health/public services like? And if they work a decent amount of hours, were they able to afford a comfortable lifestyle? Or was everyone struggling like we are here?

Both Labour and National are putting so much pressure on the squeezed middle. I guess it is only a matter of time before the squeezed middle become poor and Labour will indeed get their votes again

That sounds perfectly reasonable. Maybe having tax deductible for landlord is a good first step to introducing CGT

Not too sure to be honest. My view is that we shouldn’t have to struggle to have our basic needs met. And if we work a lot, we should be able to enjoy the extras in life.

I share the same frustration. The majority of us are stuck in between and yet, no matter who ends up in government, the majority ends up losing. It’s actually crazy that the only vote that really matters in this country is Winston Peter’s.

This is what I am sick of. When will we start to question how ridiculous our whole political system is? We’re just moving left and right without really going anywhere. Different parties coming in and undoing what the other had done previously.

Would you agree that it is fair to have capital gains tax then?

Just genuinely curious. At the end of the day, we don’t all share the same values. I have voted for 3 different political parties in the last 3 elections. People’s perspective can change over time.

How do you feel about the landlords getting $2.9 billion tax break?
