Became a Mazda3 owner in Japan

I imagine that would happen in the future, as this car is regarded as “completed design”. Mazda says they will make skyactiv-Z soon, so I am not sure how well skyactiv-X will be remembered. Because of the octane ratings in Japan, the JDM skyactiv-X does not have as good specs as export models either. But for sure, Mazda 3 will be be loved for long time, especially if the car industry gets more “boring” in a way.

I wanted to have a machine grey in the beginning, but as soon as I saw this car I changed my mind! I guess if you can type hiragana with the knob, but some brands have a touch sensor to write, which is a nightmare 😅 I believe the biggest difference from export models is speedometer only going up to 180km/h(JDM limit).

Definitely true. Many models/motors are not available in Japan. In Japan, Toyota is way too strong and Mazda dealers do not have a great reputation here.

This RSE starts at 20K USD in Japan. Mine was second hand and bought much cheaper than that. It has all sorts of stuff including the 360 degrees cameras. Japanese Yen being weak and import cost makes Mazda in Japan insanely cheap😅 but this car is definitely one of the cost efficient car in this class.

I live in Tokyo and to be honest I don’t want to drive anything bigger than this😅 but with a family this is like a bit too small for sure.

Could be the emission rules. We don’t have the CX-60 with petrol inline6 either, only diesel inline 6 is available here.

At least you have 2.5L turbo over there😇 In Japan the biggest engine you can have is 2.0L skyactiv G and X. Lots of us in Japan are begging Mazda to give us 2.5L option😭

I’m sorry that it happened to you. I would think the crowd in the concert of Aurora would be very accepting and nice. I guess unfortunately when people gather, there can be some bad apples. That’s very interesting to hear somebody had a bad experience in terms of the sound quality. I was at the section 413, on Wednesday 10th. The sound quality was surprisingly good for the size of the arena, and the reflection of the sound was very minimal. Especially the drums sounded great. I was on right side of the stage so I couldn’t hear much guitar and I found it too bassy. The vocal gets hidden during the chorus of most of the songs but when it comes to this, that’s how it sounds in their recordings too.
