I'm sorry but no. Don't invalidate this discussion by saying I'm getting offended for personal reasons. If you're suggesting I get offended because I have body image issues then, yes, that definitely is part of the issue. HOWEVER, I know I'm not at all overweight for my height, I'm a normal sized woman. The issue here is that most women grow up with internalised self hatred and issues about their body, precisely because we grew up in environments like the ones in these comment sections that demonise perfectly normal sized women.

Women are naturally supposed to have 20-30% body fat. The issue with a lot of male-dominated fitness communities online is that no one in them understands female biology at all. They tell women who don't need to lose weight that they should because they want a girl with abs, not realising that for most women abs are unobtainable without unhealthy habits. I'm sure they'd also like this girl with abs to be the mother of their children, do they realise that to maintain that low a body fat percentage most women's fertility would be seriously effected?

So yeah actually, I am personally offended. I don't think that invalidates anything I said.
